We all thought it would start with some military computer, but in reality it will start with fun experiments like this. Just wait until his computer gets connected to the internet and he spreads his ai everywhere. We're doomed, DOOMED!

Merely being "predictions" as per the title is misleading, because there are billions being actively dumped into most of these projects.

Most of this stuff runs in a laboratory environment with the machines hardwired to a power supply and an array of instruments. With more of these "real world" trials, I'm now curious about the efficiency and longevity of their internal power supplies. I always assumed that would be the limitation on actual implementation of this type of technology in day-to-day situations.
