Hi there, Beginner here. Just wanna ask everything about master points

~What are master points?
~It has something to do with master class? What is master class?
~what are master points for? I heard it gives you extra stats & skills points?
~how do I acquire master points?
~I've heard people said it's only doable when you're max lvl(50), so I don't have to worry about it from lvl1 to 49?

Well, that's about it. Hope you can help me out. Thanks

Oh hello kentarusxw2z, welcome to RO2 community. Let me answer your questions:

1- Master Point is how the experience points are called in Master Level System (post level 50).

2- Yes, it is related to the Master Class.
The idea of a Master Class is to expand your potencial. For example, from level 1 to 50 I evolve from Swordman to Knight, but when I reach Master levels the idea is to improve your second Class to turn in a Master. So I turn in a Master Knight and along the developmet in game we get mastery ranks to show my improvements.

3-You can buy 100 stats and 20 skill points, but you use the mastery points to get levels and buy materiais related to your job too. Another use of mastery points is buy special items like mounts, VIP cards, skill and stat resets in the Dapara week.

4- You can acquire mastery points killing monsters close to your level range or doing quests.

5- This happen because you can only start your life as master when you reach base and job level 50 and finish a quest to expand your level limit. Currently the level limit is ml 40 (level 90).

I hope this can help you give an idea of what Master Points and Master Levels are.

crafting generates mastery points, it all goes into the same exp point pool. It's not seperate like level 1 to 50, at Master Level everything just generates mastery points (exp).

That link is inaccurate, the values up to Master Level 20 are correct but after that they're effectively double. Yes, there is a small-ish Zeny charge for levelling up. Each time you want to raise your 'Mastery Level' you visit the Gilgamesh NPC in Morroc and click the Master Level Up button and you'll receive 5 stat points but there is a zeny charge.

At this point I would also point out that the amount of mastery points you can gather varies by level and rank. At Rank D (ML1 to ML10) the maximum amount of points you can gain is 20,000MP, however at Rank C, that goes up to 50,000MP, but at Rank B the cap doesn't increase until Master Level 22 which raises the cap to 100,000MP. Once you reach the cap limit you effectively have to spend MP (Mastery Points) either on items at Dapara (the cat next to Gilgamesh) or with Gilgamesh to level up.

[EDIT]

I should also mention that you rank up (D, C, B, A etc...) by completing a quest given you by Gilgamesh when you reach the required level. So in the case of Rank C you'd unlock the quest at ML10.

In general you want to do the purchasing at  ML 15-19, where you would be grinding in Tomb of Osiris. This area is generally the fastest MP gain in the game that doesn't require a fully optimized party and is reached the earliest.

Definitely get skill points first. They will be very noticeable improvements.

If you're someone who likes to complete things or max out every tiny point of stats, then you can buy stat points at that level too, but if you don't have as much time to play, you can honestly live without the 100 stat points and nobody would notice. Your stat build makes up 1%-3% of your overall stats in the end, 100 stat points is nothing.

Also, in the future, take care to avoid bumping really old threads (note that the last post was in September 2015.

Have fun~
