Hello Roserians!
 
The Costume Contest theme this month will be: Heroes and Villains
 

Among the average citizens of ROSE, there are heroes. And because there are heroes, their counterparts must too exist. Visitors of ROSE, you hold the ability to be good, or evil in your hands. What costume would you don to fight crime, or side with the forces of evil? Are you sneaking and stealth incarnate, or do you want your enemies to see you approach?

 

Design a costume for a ROSE Online Super Hero or Villain! Remember these costumes have to be your own creations and cannot be copies of existing super heroes or villains. You are encouraged to use in game monsters and NPCs as inspiration! Remember, these are ROSE themed costumes!

 
Submissions
 
Entries can be hand drawn, created with a tablet and image editing software, or 3-D models.  Make sure to include any colors that you concept for your costume design if its an original design. Costume designs should include both a male and female version. Make sure to also include the name of your costume and include your in game name with your entry. 
 
Costume designs must be the creation of the players submitting the entry. They should also match the current monthly theme. *
 
Results
 
This contest will run from 2/4/2016 – 2/30/2016. The ROSE Team will pick the winning costume to be created in game and the winner will be announced the following week.
 
Prize
 
The player who submits the costume that is chosen will not only receive that costume in game once it is created, but will be given 1000 IM Points! Winners also are able to choose if they would like their name to appear on the costume description to be immortalized forever for their concept in game. If you wish for your name to be on the costume description, we will request that you let us know in a pm once the contest is complete and the winners have been announced.

Should be fine, there was no specified number of entries. Though most would assume it would be one per person.

The hard part about this theme is that there technically isn't heroes or villains in ROSE that aren't integrated into the lore, and all of those are either active in the current content, OR hinted at coming back [except possibly the 7 Hearts].
The Villains are also the same, with the main "villain" Hebarn, and his subordinates being active but not seen most of the time. 

 

So, unless you make up your own lore to place this 'hero or villain' into the ROSE world, it's not going to be related in any capacity unless you effectively copy in-game characters which could be done, but might look cheesy or like a lack of effort. 

 

The only thing I could really think of was a Arua or Hebarn Follower costume. But again, a portion of that comes from pre-existing items [yet to be released] and are slated to have a purpose. This is hard to do, but I will try to push out a pair of costumes for Arua and Hebarn, both male and female.

As of right now, no.

With a few tweaks and some new code, possible.

With money invested and time set aside, definitely.

Hey Feuer, this question isn't related to the thread but the answer could come in handy for future entries, is it possible to add floating things on a costume? like for example, a fish costume.... water bubbles are floating/ hovering on the shoulders or head.

Actually it is. The mesh doesn't need to be 'connected' so long as all the polygons are in the  same model, or listed as the same item [some items have multiple meshes]. 

 

So in short yes. It is possible to have items 'floating' [just not animated to bobble up and down etc]. I've done it a few times.

- I still remember the times when taking 1st job was pretty difficult and the only NPC I know was Tryteh (been Muse/Cleric job in any ROSE Server), I dedicate this to Tryteh (considering her as my hero) and how she used to sell skill books back then.

Everyone's perceptions of a Hero and Villain in regards to a vague topic [the entire game world of ROSE] is bound to be different. 

 

For example, when I think of a 'Hero' in ROSE, I think of the 7 Hearts and people like Loderic.

When I think of Villains, I think of people like Meledino, Heburkal and Turak. 

 

But continuing my own perspective, the 'monsters' of ROSE originally were simple animals who were at peace with the inhabitants of the 7 Planets. That is until Hebarn and the Ikaness started spreading the Devil Pest virus in order to start causing issues for Arua and her follower's. [thus starting the war]. So, I can't really say that the mob's are villains, more less just manipulated innocents.
