I was wondering how effective bow rogues were in pve.  I have seen them in Gramps low TI maps and was curious on the damage they deal.  I had one a long time ago and reset the stats/skills and made a melee out of it.  Is bow rogue viable in pve?  Is their damage in line with hunters in single target?

rogue and stalkers are very ineffective in TI, unless you take the role of tank, puller, or storm guster.
well, different story if you have exceptional gears

What about in regular pve, fuyukikun?  I am just curious if it is worth the time to level one even if I stay out of TI.

1. They do at least 1 damage so technically yes.
2. Define viable. Even a perma novice is viable with good gears.
3. Markedly inferior to hunter now that double attack won't work with a bow.

What about Triangle Shot? Bow rogue to bow chaser, has anyone tried ? Or it's just rumor to rumor telling that skill is not viable, so no one trying

Rogue>stalker>chaser, but yeah. I have a bow chaser that uses triangle shot and severe rainstorm.

 

Its a crappy skill. Its basically similar DPS to double strafe. On a 3rd job.

With decent gear, still catching up after a 2 year break.  Still sporting Valk and Mora Gear.  Basically can they hold their own or do I need TONS of restoratives?

You could always like go DEX/INT, intimidate heal, and be 100% self sufficient.

for low TI purpose i suggest be bowling basher if you are soloing or be a damage dealer in small party. otherwise, be a support like i said in previous post.
if you are a chaser already, arrow storm is good to use until you graduate from mid TI, above that i suggest to do ignition break, severe rainstorm or psychic wave caster. of course all of them needs good gear since rogue career is quite challenging in terms of pvm. you can kill and mob, but not as fast and as effective than other 3rd classes.
