This is the only thing I'll have to disagree with. Not only is x5 drop rates a bit too much but making it during dapara week would be only in favor of older players who don't need to grind for MP anymore. Besides, I wouldn't want to see drop rates fluctuate like that so as to sway the majority to only farm during that time alone, like it is for exp right now. A lot of players don't play during weekdays and only do on the weekends due to the exp rates being high during that time. If we do anything similar like that for drop rates, the remaining few will stop farming/playing during weekdays and just show up during the boosted time period.
That's not true, actually alot of people farm Diamonds all day, everyday, you can make 10,000-20,000 diamonds in a day, get 1-2 Baphomet cloaks and there you get 300-700k zeny easily. People play alot during weekdays. Things changed.
The best way to sustain players and keep the community active is to encourage certain activities permanently rather than isolate them to a specific time frame. Dapara week is the only time most players get on and grind because most are lazy to consider grinding at a lower rate and it has also become an habit for me to only grind during weekends.
Grinding isn't so bad and neither is farming so long as it isn't a fruitless effort. It's bad enough that WL opens rarely but you have a 2 entry limit and inspite of using all drop rate buffs, sometimes you get no drops at all.
Grinding is awful, full of macroers on FP, it's either Crescentia's spamming 3 pets afk or tanks spamming Brandish storm/Grand cross for 2-5 hours. And farming, do you know how many Blop Cards Odin has? or Captain Vador cards? There's like 2 each on the server. All Jawaii cards are extremely rare except for Frilldora mobs. Killing a 38 millions HP boss and not getting a card or even drop, is not funny.
If they want to make another pay to win item like the Thief potion i won't mind but it needs to be over 100%, drop rates are under 1%, a Thief potion makes no difference whatsoever. Best example, i went to wl dungeon on my main full drop rate buff = no card, then i go on an alt ml 30,no vip, nothing at all, and i get a Shy lady tani card. How's that even fair? People who spent money and time to get better gets no reward, but some random scrub like an alt with no buff or gear gets a good card. Idk, you explain me.
Gravity won't fix the drop rate, they can't, they don't know how to fix it. They will probably just insert another drop rate item to bandaid the core problem.
I've said this in another thread, but encourage players to do dead content like Himmelmez's Chamber and all the bosses in Dark Whisper and Forgotten Payon by boosting their usefulness. There's so much content available in this game that can be put to good use rather than come up with fresh ones to keep players active.
How about alternative automated events instead of Trivia that gives everyone equal opportunity to win? Trivia has really good rewards and is the only good source I can find for honing hammers, DNA boxes and 3day VIP, but sadly it's a typing contest where only a few take part in. I'd prefer an event that everyone would take part in and rely purely on luck so that it doesn't favor anyone in particular.
TriviaBot is flawed, people just memorize the questions and answer before they even read it completely, that's not good sportmanship. And i blocked Public chat on my main char since 2013, full of toxic stuff and kiddos/wannabes/notice me senpai around. That bot was made on an era where RO2 was literally dying, nothing to do but afk and do some GvG battles on WoE. We had VEP's ( Volunteer Event planners) some time ago but they all quit (Lanie, TidusPeco, MorningRose, Saridragonfly etc) also WarpPortal or Gravity refused to give out REAL rewards on their events, like seriously, nobody's gonna waste their time for a crappy event boxes. (*Shouts to Maridah*)
Even check Varitas event for Valentine's day, a Chocolate for 2-3rd or more places. I don't blame her/him though, he/she's doing job for RO2/Dragon Saga/Requiem.
I already stated this several times, Colosseum needs to be active and competitive again, many people i asked that already quit the game on 2013, said that the most attractive event they have played on MMO's(Aside WoE on RO1), was this Colosseum hours, people who loved PvP could get their gear for PvP, the ones who didn't love it, could go PvE or Bapho Hard and get their PvE gears. That's how the game should be, not seed runes screwing up all the -_- game.
Idk who brought the idea of the diamond system, but they are saving the game with that, specially the most wanted scrolls.
