Do you have any favorite games you'd recommend?
Some of the stuff that gets played a lot at my house:
Advanced Dungeons and Dragons (2nd edition)

Monopoly my gawd. Best game ever, if you don't have anything to do for a long time and have a superb attention span.

The Farming Game is a good Monopoly alternative. Superficially, it looks similar, but the overall mechanics are designed much better.

I played Yu Gi Oh! back in College because I can't afford MTG.

For me, after initial investments, shrewd trading and tournament winnings had Magic paying for itself. A friend of mine was even savvier in this aspect. Somehow he was able to do the same with Magic, plus Pokemon and Yu Gi Oh to bankroll most of his expenses through college.

I'm a casual player and I had never tried joining tournaments since I had bootleg cards.

Some of these games are on your list, but I played Apples to Apples too with friends before when we had a white elephant gift exchange in our art club at school. We played a few games during our friend's game night that she planned:
Codenames was the first one we played (though I derped sometimes in this game because I would sometimes forget to reference the card that indicates which words guessed would gain points for my team >.<)
7 Wonders I thought was pretty fun once you get the hang of all the rules and what the cards do. I was the one who hoarded the resource producing cards and my friends would be buying resources from me most of the time because I would usually end up being the only one with textile resources and they would toss those thinking they wouldn't need it later haha.
Then we played Tsuro and they said this was a calming game but then we got to "mwahahaha yes I made you fall off the edge!" kind of comments during our gameplay with them figuring out how to run each other off the edge of the board and I was like "I thought you guys said this was a calm game <___<;;;" haha
She had plenty of other games that we could've played but it was getting pretty late so we didn't have time to play some more.
Another game we played before that game night was Jungle Speed (had some intense moments of grabbing the totem in that game) and Exploding Kittens (I usually had the bad luck of exploding early in the game >.<).
