I think the Steam launch was an attempt to reach a broader demographic of gamers. Unfortunately I don't see much of a gain in population by it. Also I think it might of complicated things a bit on where one should sign up and spend money at. But atleast it's more effort in advertising the game to a bigger audience than Aeria Games ever did for Metal Assault.
