I have noticed that these are the MOST common garments for well geared players. I looked the exact effect of them in the iRO wiki database and noticed that they have mostly the same effect, except that HMP gives greed and a bit higher boost, and FAW can be further enchanted. What are the pro's and con's of each as far as actual stats and results go? Which one do you use and why?

But no, serious answer, HBP is nice for various different buffs while FAW is more specialized. I use both for various things. HBP has higher neutral reduction at +9 too.

So, im gathering from your response that, HMP is good if you want good all around stat boosts, and FAW is better for a more specialized boost, like ASPD / Crit or whatever enchant you put on it?

Not to be an arse but why HMP?

The down side of HBP is u must have 90 stats (str/dex/int/luck/vit) to benefit from the backpack's bonuses. FAW gives u certain bonuses based on every 20 stats that you invested but not as much bonuses as backpack. However, the enchantment gives immediate boost once you have it. HBP is cheaper FAW is more expensive.

In the end, it depends what do you want to use it for, if you want to use it for different characters, if you have zeny to buy multiple HBPs or FAWs, etc.

 

Another plus for the HBP is that you can greed with it!!!

it is a matter of preference. You want more reductions or more offense? your choice, either choice is valid.
