No video as of now since I've been a bit busy and it would've been so short :(

 

Welcome to Vyvern News, the place to check out the past week of Dragon Saga. Coming up, patch notes take you on a nostalgia trip, worshiping Emperor Woodie becomes even easier and Finale wins Emporia.

 

Patch Notes:

 

The login screen now plays the good old track from the past! You can now enjoy these tunes once more instead of what ever that other music was.

 

Change to the way emotion work while chatting stopped characters from randomly waving and showing up signs all the time. Now to have these emotions trigger from the chat one has to type ”/” followed by the word that triggers it. So for example ”/dance1” or ”/sleep”. The waving emotion when starting to type a message was also removed.

 

Players are now able to get a portrait of the very handsome Emperor Woodie from the vending machine. The ”Emperor Woodie Picture Frame costs 5 gada and 5 silver coins and can be placed in the players myhome. It gives a 2% magic attack buff for 30 minutes. Despite Emperor Woodie totally destroying the democracy in Dragon Saga, players seem to like what he has brought to the table.

 

Emporia

 

Out of the 4 entering guilds Finale proved to be the strongest last week and now holds the 2 star castle. In the final they fought against RevenGER. Wow, that EW video hurts. Seems like RevenGER went in without a good tactic, or just to have fun. Valcy you should know it better xD

 

Very risky from Finale to play like that. Even more risky with that class combination but actually it worked fine lol

CoolSam here. I'll give some commentary on that Emporia matchup.

 

It was 2vs10. RevenGer had an admittedly good tactic of the 10-man island stack. With proper class setups it can camp the entry point and bring high-risk to enter. They even had a very stacked twin who can safely island roam for missions and kills and a Summoner/Sorcerer combination for the main island.

 

The main issue was likely an attendance one. As aside from about 2-3 people the majority were not defensively built for fighting the 2 from Finale. Had they brought an Invoker with magnets and placed the Summoner closer to the spawn point it'd be easier to keep us out that island. But even at 8-10k 4-element resist I could enter an island and hit-and-run for kills.

 

Once the Attack chance was taken. It was a matter of hit-and-run for the core itself. As well as a bothersome feature that if the guild who can attack the core gets another 100 points can reset the point counter extending attack chance time. Perhaps that will be looked into for future Emporia fixes.

 

This was not any bagging on RevenGer. They're a great guild. It was an attendance issue for them as I know they had much more stacked players that would've steamrolled us.

Well the reset on 100 points for the attacking team makes sense, since they did again win the race to 100 points thus getting another atk chance. But maybe getting atk chance could be made to only reset the counter of the enemy to 50, and the attacking team to 0. This way the guild that gets the first atk chance gets that big advantage, but the other team that gathers points more slowly still has a good chance of getting an attack turn themselves. It'd be a good way to increase the amount of people that would be effective in Emporia. A bit weaker geared player could end up giving a few kills away to the enemy and make them get the first atk chance, but since it would be more likely for their team to also get a chance that player could then help with the damage. So the balance between perhaps giving up a few points for more core dmg would be more delicate.

 

I don't really like the atk chance thing as a whole anyway, and I also don't like the island thing with the hopping. I'd want that old empo back and no atk chance with it :(

 

Also I dunno, maybe missions should be made stronger compared to skills and the cores could have more hp. I just really don't feel like it's much of guild pvp when most of the time the effective tactic is to have only the most stacked players in there.

Main reason why EW is broken. That video is the perfect example, as soon they get hit, they run to a different map and heal, than they claim to be any good. Yawn................ I guess they call it tactics haha, but in reality is nothing short than trolling Maps cause they can't handle the heat.

Xd.......... Not hating on any particular player lmao, as I said "they", more than one. Is what almost all players do, that are active in EW wars. I chose sam's video to emphasize what's been happening, not as an insult for his way of play lol. So, basically what I stated long ago, EW is broken and 1 way to fix it, is by locking people in an area once they engage in battle, they can move from map only if they have not fought anyone on that map, otherwise the trolling will always be there. Another thing I emphasize was the use of healing and I meant all healings from skills or potions not be allowed, because is what happened in battle, warp to different map and heal. Even when they are stunt, frozen, locked or you name it, they can just map out.

 

Let me say it like it is, is not a war, is a simple run and heal tactics with lack of strategy or focus in the main evolution of a war.

Like I said. RevenGer simply had an attendance issue as I was certain that they would've had a lot more stacked people. Likely a timezone difference or other reason.

But in this case we simply hunted whatever we could 1 shot. This is why guilds often put such a large preference for gear in EWs.

Yes the cooldown of island hopping is too short. I do agree those normally instant death scenarios should've had me killed.

Nicely said, but I was focus on every ones doing, not you. Just would like to see a better EW on the Arcadia concept and by the way, you did well against so many, even in doing what you did, u had no choice, but to survive. You are not the problem lol, is the games schematics that are at fault.

 

Most times if not always, I consider the games pattern and replay ability, not the gamers for their conducts, I mean really if the games transaction let you do it and is not against the rules, than is the games pattern. BTW, you did good xd. In your case and against so many, I would have died an honorable death 1k times over xd. I'm all about kill or be killed, there is hardly any needs for tacticians on these game, cause once people die all plans went out of the window.

I don't think this island thing can ever be as good as EW would deserve.

 

I also don't like EW for the same reason I don't really like guild quests. You can't do it with your guild. It's supposed to be a guild thing, yet because dying is so punishing the effective tactic is to only go with the most stacked few members. Without attack chance being a thing a respawn time would be enough of a punishment. In my mind emporia fights should have more players than a normal pvp room...
