I am a chaos player, and u can be no more of a ****, probably you bought a lot o boxes when they were 40 to 60m and its probably you who its selling 200m+. If people ask for boxes at least tell why they should not be put in kafra shop, because you just say that for your own selfishness,. Those box need to be at its normal price 40m- 60m again. the Market has not many of them as you say.

If people ask for boxes at least tell why they should not be put in kafra shop, because you just say that for your own selfishness,. Those box need to be at its normal price 40m- 60m again. the Market has not many of them as you say. 

 

This seems true, happens much less in real life because businesses would not be able to pay their rents, labor, and other costs if products didn't sell. Although in many ways, by not selling your product, you have less investment opportunity, so it is quite possible to earn less profit by trying to maintain high prices. If the product is closer to a necessity, it may sell at a decent rate at high price, but RWC is not considered a necessity, hence you miss certain opportunity.
 

Not saying it should be 40-60, but seeing people vend them at 150 and higher screams lost opportunity to me by the seller. Not to say they might not profit well in the short run, more like certain moments, but it is investment loss in the long run.

I wonder if you were around when the overspam of enriched hammer for a month or so annihilated +9 item prices. Or overspam of shadow upgrade event massacred shadow gear prices.

 

The same thing happened to FAW, HBP, RWC, KBC and x,y and z items: When items are overspammed, prices are crap, the market stales and everyone will be in trouble. Why? Shouldn't cheap items make ppl get items easier? Yes, but those items are what you wanna sell when you wanna upgrade to a better item (e.g. accumulate zeny to get high plussed items, or mvp cards)

- then you will be bitten in the bum and get hit by the karma train, as you gonna sell crap tons of cheap items to get anywhere near proper zeny.

My humble opinion is that upgrade events is to give people a better chance to get that +9 or +10 item that they want but still don't have. Speculators wanting to make a profit is a collateral. I'm not saying that it's something bad and that shouldn't be done, by the contrary, it's a good collateral, because by doing this market speculators make the items more available, thus more accessible to those who did not have the luck nor the items neither the money (RL money) to do so. It's the exact same thing that happens in the derivative markets.

 

But what you defend is the direct opposite. You act as if the upgrade's events sole reason for being is to give speculators more opportunity to make money. Hey, man, speculators ARE RISK BUYERS, that's why they always strive to make profits and to minimize unavoidable losses! If you do not want to incur in risk, just don't speculate. Good speculators just make their profits higher than the loss they will UNAVOIDABLY incur in the process. Why it should be different in Ragnarok?

After saying all of this, I agree that it's bad to spam upgrade events like they did this anniversary, but it's a natural course of the market, and it's stale now because it's still adapting to the new price reality. These periods will always happen, though it will be more moderate if these events were scheduled or regular and there was a decent space of time between them (2 months or more). On the other hand, if hammer was a permanent NPC, these stale periods would NEVER happen, and a lot of speculators would lose the opportunity to make surreal profits with it. For example, I just bought a FAW for 280 M. Wasted 6 certs to make it +7 (340 M). If I wanted to by a +9 from a speculator, I'd need to pay about 300 M as a premium. Even if I'm unlucky as hell, I'd never use more than 2 boxes of 50 E.E. to get it to +9 (260-280 M, still cheaper). The premium is this high because I may need to wait until the year's end to see hammer's face again, and you never know. There's an already high premium for normal upgraded items (+5~+7), simply because there's a lot of unlucky people. It would still be a fair profit to buy a FAW for ~300 M and sell it at +9 for 450-500 M. Why make all this fuss?

In earlier days, even slotted sunnies were worth god items (when champion just started, and ppl wanted maximum g-fist damage for competitive mvping). Now they are like what 70m? Expecting "normal" prices is "abnormal" if you know market analysis.

 

I won't hash more about the past, but the point is, in a live market if you expect those prices, that mentality is gonna be bad for you in real life ^^;;;

No, if they were on kafra shop  a month ago or 2 their price would be around 50m or 60m. I dont remember clearly but they were on kafra  a year ago, maybe more.

No, i dont mix my real life with a game. This is a game and thats it. I am just asking for something i believe, to help other people even myself to enjoy more the game, but if think like you do, Ragnarok would die cause new players would just get tired as they can never buy items for such prices, i have known a lot o people who left for that reason. And if they were worth 3 years ago 500m, that was 3 years ago indeed, we are in the present. I undersand the long run to sell an item, even i do but we need to be considerated aswell, and stop thinking with selfish reasons like a lot of people here try to give a lot of explanations. Real life its diferent, Games are for passing a relaxing time and enjoying.
