[NEW BUG REPORT] Missing NPC for [Dungeon] Master Hunter's Test quest

Date: August 22nd, 2016

Bug Severity: Critical (Red)

Game Area: Divided Plain, Abaddon of Despair
Character Information: PixieGlitter, SoulMaker, Master Level 40)

Problem: Yesterday I took [Dungeon] Master Hunter's Test quest from Reidin Kerse (NPC) in divided plain. I supposed to collect 30 "Victor's Point III" to complete the quest. Last night I joined daily Jawaii raid, and since there are so many daily quests in Jawaii I abandoned the [Dungeon] Master Hunter's Test quest. This morning I want to re-take it, so I went to Divided Plain. But, I couldn't find Reidin Kerse (NPC) at his spot. The quest mark still appears in my map, but no NPC to take the quest. I can enter AoD (N) but I don't have any quest to be finished. Please help me. How can I re-take it? Thanks.

Should be: NPC suppose to be there (in quest mark), I suppose to be able to take the quest again.

Steps to Reproduce:

If I remember correctly, you need to complete part of the main quest line in Divided Plains. Based on your map, it looks like you haven't done that. You need to complete a few of them and Reiden should appear to you after you get a small cutscene over the course of the quest line.

The cutscene is of...

I've had this bug couple of weeks ago, I was supposed to deliver one of the last quests to him and he was invisible. The map showed him at the spot in the small town between the canyon and he wasn't there. I sent a ticket and a GM completed the quest for me. Too bad they can't fix their game and such easy things in a timely manner.

I correct myself, it was to take the quest Hello and Goodbye, not deliver. http://www.noelshack...erse-vanish.jpg

I honestly don't consider this a bug. It seems intuitive enough that you should be completing your main quests to access more main quests. If you skip certain stages in the progression then it makes sense that some areas/NPCs won't be available. I would only consider it a bug if you finished the proper quest line and it still doesn't appear there, which is not the case here. There's nothing to "fix" if players willfully ignore questing. Similar to the unlocking of Sea God Temple. If you skip the unlock requirements, it's not the game's fault you skipped it.

Ehm I don't know if you are replying directly to the topic author or my past issue, but in my case it was simply a quest giver that went missing. I did all the previous quests of that quest line to get to that point where the "Hello and Goodbye" quest is available. Yet, Reidin Kerse the quest giver wasn't there to be found no where. In the screenshot, I'm right at the spot where it indicated on the map. I'm not sure what you are arguing about, or if you understood correctly what has happened in my case.

Arby was replying to your post, and he actually explained the issue already. Sure you followed the questline, but that's the Abaddon of Despair questline.

What Arby explained is that you need to do the Divided Plains main questline (the one that starts at the north) until you see the cutscene he mentioned.

In your screenshot you clearly show you haven't done any of the quests in that map previously. So obviously the NPC can't show up.

Alright, fair enough. I didn't know it was a must to complete all zone quests from Divided to do AOD quests. If anything, the quest should not appear on the map and give a feeling of being available to take until the player completes all the previous quests.

I just want to mention in the past the AOD quests were all available to take without having to complete Divided plains quests, so this invisible NPC quest giver is new and can be considered a bug. EDIT: or at least the quest showing in the map part can. If the game wants to be logic and consistent with all the other quests it shouldn't appear on the map until you are able to take it

Also, pelkies says she was able to take the quest but then had to abandon it, and couldn't retake it. Regardless of whether or not all the quests from that map should be done before taking AOD-related quests from Reidin, there is something glitchy there that can not be denied. Either she couldn't have taken the quest from the beginning, or she must be able to retake the quest after abandoning.

She needs to unlock the NPC via the Divided Plains quest line to deliver the quest results anyways so it literally does not matter whether she has the quest before or after he is unlocked. You're expected to have him unlocked so nothing glitchy about it at all.

The original quest is automatically accepted as with many other quests. And same with those, if you abandon it partway through, you can retake it from a designated NPC. It just so happens this one requires prior requirements to be unlocked.

Anyways, there is already a logical way to take and complete the quest in game so the priority is relatively low. Regardless, a bug report has been filed to see if this quest can be dumbed down. There's nothing more to say on this really.

How can you say there's nothing glitchy at all? She has the quest, abandons it and can not retake it even though it shows on the map it's there because of an invisible NPC. In my case I didn't finish any of the divided plains quests besides AODs, the GM actually only gave me the quest (it occured 2months ago so my memory wasn't crystal clear at the time of my first post here until I re-read the ticket) and I was able to complete it by returning it to a now visible Kerse, so it does matter. If a quest is not able to be taken it shouldn't appear at all on the map or in your quest log. Cool, thank you for making a report on this matter.

The original quest is automatically accepted as with many other quests.

Well maybe it shouldn't.
