Entry Rules

-THEME: Nightmare Before Midgard

 

Edit: Editing the theme by suggestion of Campitor. Since Nightmare Toy Dungeon is scheduled to Launch in October we're going to have the theme reflect our long awaited Nightmare Toy Factory Dungeon! Perhaps it's monster toys coming to life, or monsters invading Lutie, this is a monster-focused contest.

 

You can also enter an entry for the previously posted theme: Monster Jobs

 

The monsters of Ragnarok Online are one of the most beloved parts of the game. For this year, the theme is Halloween Month in which monsters co-exist with humans and monsters are going to work! Perhaps it's Baphomet doing some farming, or Incubus working as a Cool Event Corp NPC, a Firelock Soldier acting as a bank security guard or Satan Morroc serving guests as a waiter in a Prontera pub! 

 

-Art must be new (created after the announcement of the contest) and wholly created by the artist. Clip art and elements borrowed from other works are not allowed. 

-Artist must be the one submitting, no commissioned works allowed for this contest. 

-Traditional and digital art 

-Entries MUST be 4:3 aspect ratio to be considered for loading screens. If that means that you have to add a "letterbox" to get it to that aspect ratio (640x480, 1600x1200) please do so. 

 

-Entries must be 640x480 jpgs at around 100kb or slightly less. You can also include a larger scale version of your image in your submission post. Sites like this will scale down your pictures and let you set a maximum file size. 

 

-Please include your character name, server and headgear choice in the post, this will make it a lot easier to add your prize when the new screens go in. 

 

Judging

-The deadline to submit an entry into the contest will be 11:59pm PDT (GMT-7) on Thursday, October 27th

 

-Judging will be done by a panel of WP Staff based on the following categories

• Originality
• Theme
• Effort
• Overall Execution

also, for those doing traditional entries, if you don't have a scanner to work with, please take a photo of your work during daytime since natural lighting will make things look clearer. then have a friend edit stuff through Photoshop :3 (a.k.a. Levels, Brightness and contrast adjustment, Curves, and Resolution/ Canvas Size.)

@kokeshicat: Thanks! It's some of the aspects I still need to improve on. Atm my color palette and lighting are just based on a guessing game, hence, lacking accuracy. Hopefully will get a mastery of those over time.^^

You can enter for both categories, but you should say which entry of the two you want to make your official entry for the competition. The other one can become a loading screen but only one can be eligible for the competition part.
