An Icy wind has blown in from the North! Monsters are freezing around Rune-Midgarts and inhabitants need your help to deal with this cold snap!

Collect bottled lightening from the main and daily quests to trade in for items!

Start your quest journey at NPC Gale in Prontera with a level 15 character or higher.

New Guild Skill: Siege Weaponry!

There is a new guild skill for guilds to use siege weaponry in War of Emperium maps.

Gather the new guild skill books to unlock all five tiers!

 

Guild Skill: Siege Weaponry:

- (5) Tiers that allow you to unlock 10/20/30/40/50 siege weapons to be used on the map

- New Siege Hammer item for sale at Siege Weapon vendors that allow guilds to destroy their own siege and coordinate their siege placement better

- New Siege Weaponry radius has been extended from 6m to 10m

- Siege Weapon build cooldown has been extended from 3 seconds to 10 seconds

- Incomplete siege weapons will self-destruct after 30 seconds unless used or completed

- New error messages for Siege Hammer if siege weapon is in use, or if a guild is at their siege weaponry limit

- New buff icon to show current siege weapon limit

 

Miscellaneous

- Yule Festival has ended

- Right-hand side Trade Window was previously unprotected from a trade scam and this has been fixed.

- New UI menu option for Card Reinforcement

- Resolved issue where wrong character might be deleted if you scrolled left with three pages of characters

- Pet names in Monster Collection should now be sorted alphabetically

- Resolved an issue so that using tab while in the auction house will not cause a failed registration issue

- Resolved an issue where force closing the game bypassed using Spinels or other related items

- Invincibility Buff in PvP should now also extend to damage-over-time or debuffs

- GreenSeed Rune effects showed anincomplete description in gear and the effect of the rune should now appear correctly in gear

Cool. I think further WoE changes should be pushed in the direction which makes attacking stronger. Right now defending is so so so so much stronger than attacking with two different guilds sitting on their butts in their respective maps, and this isn't just due to siege -- people can warp back in immediately to defense points(introduce WoE map entrance sickness), guardians exist for whatever the hell reason, and attackers have to traverse maps to maintain pressure on forts/castle (kafra saves are easily dealt with). Prontera is a chokepoint nightmare and has two gates of security, so if you control the map it's pretty much impossible to lose castle since if something goes wrong and somehow the first gate goes down, you can clench your butt and run back to pront castle with plenty of time to spare. Holding 4 WoEs a week which are restricted to one map only would help a lot of this since it forces competition and would give us something to do since updates are so slow to roll out.

Today's Njotes is coming a little late because we have a hefty backend patch we're working on getting applied.

 

What's Up

  • Lunar Festival (Jan 18 - Feb 13)
    • For those unfamiliar with our January holiday event, we are writing up a new page that should go live soon with the details, but you can check out our past year's page here: http://playragnarok2...ews/article/414
    • There will be an updated page for the event this week, we just had a snag with one of our test servers not wanting to play nice
  • Special Happy Hour Event (Jan 18 - Jan 25)
    • This is to make up for the broken one at the beginning of the month
    • It will include the 2015 January HHB, not the 2016 one, since we heard from many players that they preferred the older one
  • New Guild Skill: Siege Weaponry
    • New guild skill that will control how many siege weapons a guild can use at a time, plus hammer to destroy existing siege your guild owns
    • More details in today's patch notes

It is wrong to make attacking guild stronger than defending guild as guilds should also have the capability to defend their forts and/or castle. It also has to do that both defending guilds have more people than the rest of the guilds. How can you win if you only got 40 vs a guild with 80-100 active people. Anyone guild naturally can warp at their own for/castle since they should be able to defend it. Guardians are there to help the defending guild that's part of the  advantages of winning a fort, which can be enjoyed by anyone who got a fort. In war having bigger number is better unless you got better technology and weapons which can make that side have more advantage than a side with inferior technology. So in summary, guilds with less active people really can't take on guilds with more people

Golly, I know it sux waiting so long for much anticipated updates...

BUT *remembers the rollback* , better than a truly buggy update... 

I'm glad stuff is getting tested before going live. Players asked for

pre-testing, but then get miffed when testing results in fix-delays.

We can't have it all. Better to be working late, than to get rollbacks.

 

Maybe NOT what you're waiting for; but HHB & Event are something.  

 

And hey! Our pets are alphabetized now! That's the best news ever!  :e4:

I agree with Artsy357(see post below). It wasn't broken before. why fix it?

I actually preferred the old pet layout because they were listed by zone(excluding a few pets). If you wanted to alphabetize them, you could do that in the pet window by sorting by name. Don't really get this change...  :p_swt:

Instead fixing bug where player died but can't enter WL again because it's count as 2x entry (it should be counted as 1x only AFTER killing all 4 bosses), fixing this would greatly affected certain underdog classes. Let's say, Assassin, Rogue and specially Ranger. The unwanted classes now not just unwanted, but strictly unwanted for WLH. It's just like plotting to benefit certain classes and let the other classes died. Now they just USELESS for WLH, period.
