im just reading around and came across the trap hunter build for enormous damage to take on MVP's etc. Is this only applicable on renewal? Is this build not that efficient at the moment since this new server? It's probably been mentioned somewhere so apologies if im asking again.

 

At the moment, im base 50 agi, 73 DEX (Level 62) all other stats 1 at the moment. Im gonna pump some INT if the Trapper build worth it right now, or go the classic 90+ agi/dex and remaining stat points on something else. I can also buy the skill reset if need be.

Short answer: Nope it's not useless. It's quite efficient. Continue with your trap build.

It all depends on strategy. Have fun with your build. Cookie-cutter builds are overrated anyway.

to be honest, you kinda fked up for a trap build, usually that build have little to no agi because traps dmg relies heavily on int, also now with renewal mechanics traps split the damage on multiple targets so its more oriented to kill mobs one by one

Get 90 agi and 60luk, dex is not worth it. Dont get more dex

Hi just want to ask on hunter agi dex build, in restart server, is it better to go 99 agi dex or no? thanks

Trap builds are more costly than agi builds.
Depends on what you prefer i guess.
But if you are going agi, dont get 99dex. Is a lot better if you get high agi and luk. You can check on any renewal calculator.

it's not too hard to get some okay damage with your traps, especially if you are picking the right mobs to trap.

Just have a play around with some of the numbers in the trap damage formula and find something that suits you. (My trap calc based on iro wiki's formula)

thanks for the responses, its jsut because i heard the damage isnt huge in classic (before renewal), only after renewal, the damages go crazy. A few players used claymore traps before andafter renewal on same mob and got BEfore renewal 1,500 damage (single target) compared to after renewal 10,000+ damage (Single target) - Same level and stats.

Very interesting online spread sheet.  I am making a trap hunter too never done it before.  I am going  DEX INT VIT.

I guess the question you really need to answer first is what do you intend to do with your hunter once it reaches 99?

Are you more of a PvP or a PvM/MVP person?

semi-pro tip, for hunters don't waste points going past 70 base dex max. The difference in damage is minor and other stats will help you far more.
