IIRC dex and luk both give +0.1% to success, job level gives +0.2% to success, along with other passive skills

Weaponry Research gives 1% per level, up to 10% at Lv.10

Research Oridecon gives also some % to succeed but only for Level 3 weapon forging.

as I remember being a pure forger back in the day, the meta was full dex/luk build, I am not certain if this applies to Renewal as well (Odin runs on Renewal calculations, stat-wise)

Now, there are some Forgesmiths that have offensive skills (e.g. adrenaline rush, power thrust, etc.) in order to level by themselves. In my case, I am planning to level up by doing that (Adrenaline 5, Power Thrust 5, Maximize Power 3~5) and I'll use a Neuralizer after being J50 to put all those points into forging skills.

As "Oroch1" said, dex luk and Jlevel improves your forging skill, but i recommend focusing on ore refining or weapon forging.

Here you have a useful calculator for forging

I'll post both trees (pure forge & hybrid battleforge, which would help you make some bank while also having a bit of independence to level or grind for mats)

Pure forge [7 points remaining that could go into Vending if you were as lazy as me and didn't J50 your merch, else you could go Stone craft + Smith Fists

This one is what I'm doing right now (based Neuralizers <3)

As you can see, Power Thrust will help most of all your party physical dealers while you also have access to MaxPower & AdRush.

Smith Dagger is marked especially since it's one of the best options to forge but at this moment, Rogues are not released. Prob sins would prefer Katar over Daggers right now. The real money now is in 2Handeds, Axes & Spears.

It's ok. It happens that you are both going for forgesmith & Knight, which are the classes I am currently playing lol
