From what I understand of Renewal Mechanics, more base attack damage is most superior. I still want to go one handed weapon with a shield so I can be more well rounded for everything. I need the great minds of Battle BS veterans to help me out with this one. 

 

Is it viable to get those Orcish Axe [4] going? It's a level 3 weapon so I can auto get to +5.

 

How do % cards work in relation to working with ATK Increase cards?

 

Zipper Bear x3, Hydra x1

Where can I farm a Orcish [4]

You kill HO and Orc Warrior to get Orcish Axes, then you have to slot them.

I spent a lot of time in a renewal calc and as far as I could tell an orcish axe is always inferior to a sword mace. I tried various configs of ZBC/OL/Hydra/Size cards and could not get it to be as good. It might be better if it was upgraded but then so would the mace. Orc axe has a puny 75 damage to start and the cards just can't make up for it.

So is Sword Mace [1] the only real viable One Handed option?

Maces are in general the superior 1h choice for most classes that can use them.

Both sword mace and orcish are level three so I compared them at +5. With three ZBC and one 20% race card the axe > the mace with one hydra by 5~8 ATK. 

 

Given the cost and effort of going from orc axe -> orc axe [4] with four cards it is impossible to recommend an orcish axe over a sword mace. A war axe would be the definite best but extremely expensive.

There's also the fact that str scales the base weapon attack, so the mace has much more advantages over the orcish axe.

Would a high refine Morningstar[2] be best? lv3 just like swordmace, 1 more slot but 20 less attack, would be a little more over all with a zipper in the extra slot.

Yes it would, but with % cards preferably. (and ok refine/str)

Mammonite damage it's a exception on the renewal calcs.

 You'll need a refined orcish axe with hydras/sw card.
