Can someone please explain RO's religion? I read irowiki and I am confused. The page on Acolytes states that they belong to Catholic Church, while the page about High Priests says that they get their abilities from "the Gods."

There might be quite a number of religion in RO, but i think the one wherein Odin's like some high god is the most dominant

Since everything seems to revolve around him and his god pals

Not counting the culture towns, RO has 2 main religions in its lore: Odin Orthodoxy and Freyjanity. Minor religions include the Merman religion that worships a sea god; Dorams worshipping a leopard god; and the Doom Prayers in the Flame Basin that worship a god of destruction.

While it's true that Acolytes are associated with the Church, their abilities and spells come from the gods themselves. The Church in RO is more of an organization that teaches and spreads the faith, but the actual power comes from the deities that they worship. High Priests are essentially the highest-ranking members of the Church and have a deeper understanding of the gods and their abilities. It's an interesting take on religion in a video game, isn't it? If you want to learn more about religion in general, you might want to check out firstchurchlove.com for some great resources.

If the Doom Prayers were actually worshiping Satan Morroc, they would label themselves as such (Satanists) instead of Doom Prayers. Satan Morroc is well-known in Midgard, so highly unlikely they wouldn't know of him. In every conversation with them, they always refer to a God of Destruction, but never Satan Morroc by name. So that in of itself confirms that the God of Destruction they worship is a separate deity.

That's really cool to know, does the people from Schwarzwald Republic are also Freyjanist?
