Honestly I don't know why we even have to ask for this. If any of the GM's played this game/fought in guild dungeons then they should realize having the ability to instantly res yourself takes away from the entire experience. How does it make any sense to let people res themselves on a PvP map? The reward of killing someone is gone if they can instantly res, which has been demonstrated on this server many times. 

 

Currently it's not even possible to level and fight people at the same time. There's no way to defend a group of players leveling if the people attacking can res themselves every time they die.

 

I'm pretty sure no one enjoys fighting in guild dungeons currently, but I think that would change with res tokens being removed.

I'm willing to bet the amount of res tokens used in GD is under 5% of the total res tokens used, I don't believe it's significant in the big picture.

Well for the sake of just trying to understand their angle with it you could ask what other maps do res tokens get used the most on? Res tokens in GD are annoying af. But from their perspective, would it make sense for them to disable them on a map that they possibly get used on more than others if not the most? Sales are sales at the end of the day

Yes, because it adds integrity to the server and makes the server better overall for the players playing it. Which in return can make the server last longer and produce more $$.

(through a combination of decisions, not just this)

It's incredibly short-sighted to cite "well this map is where they get used most" as a reason to keep tokens around. Disabling them will improve the overall game experience, will perhaps create an incentive for more GD wars and will also presumably increase the time it takes to actually level to 99. All these will be better decisions for the long term of the server. GD will be the best map for leveling only for a while longer so it will be good to create incentive for GD wars during this time.

I don't have a problem with them being usable in the GD.    I've died so many times while going to 99 cause I mob so big.   I don't always notice when I run out of pots.  #rip

This came up on renewal, as far as we can tell the mechanism that blocks on some maps Tokens is baked into the send to save after X deaths functions or maybe one of the pvp flags. As far as I can tell from past experiments since they are etc items and not usable, its a function thats baked into the game client so unless we drastically change how the dungeons function they cannot be blocked.

This.  Or can you tweak them to use more tokens per res in GD or on MVP maps?

Lol. That does nothing but give WP more money. The people that spam tokens don't really care and the person that might use one down there just for general leveling suffers.

 

I want them gone too, but not like that..

not necessarily, what if you just made it take 10,000 tokens per res? then they would never be used in GD.

I'm not even saying get make them cost 10,000.  But say you made them cost 5.  Thats a boatload of tokens to use if you were trying to troll and kept getting fisted.  WP maintains the ability to make money off whales<Band-aid>.  Tweak it enough and the average user wont really token down there, or in mvp maps for that matter.

Pretty sure in the past GD were like a pvp room where if you die twice you are kicked out to your respawn. Even if rez token can't be disabled at least if they are kicked after the 2nd death it would be a lot better since they can only token once before having to run back.

 

Also gets rid of people being able to rez kill people over and over to make them lose exp.

There's a maptype on classic that is non pvp that disables tokens, check pay_fild10 and compare.

I've had people res me in the past in GD just to kill me again right after I died.   Goes both ways.
