Love is in the Air

Have you been waiting for the perfect time to tell an NPC, Monster, or Friend just how much you care about them? Well, love is in the air and there is no better time than now to put your feelings into words!

 

 

 

Is there a monster or NPC that you find particularly lovable? Have a secret crush on a guildmate? Have you been looking for the perfect way to show them how much you care? Combine art with words to show just how you feel.

 

Entries

 

Entries will be accepted from February 8 to March 1, 2018. 

 

Entry Instructions

 

There will be two categories for entries:

 

Original Art

 

Enter a new, originally created piece of art. Draw, paint, sculpt... any medium your heart desires! As long as it can be captured in an image and is created by you.

 

Screenshot/Concept Art

 

Would you rather express your feelings through an edited screenshot, collage, or blend of concept art and in-game screenshots? This is the category for you!

 

All Entries

 

Must include a Valentine's Day greeting or poem. I won't put a word limit on this, but keep in mind that half  of the judging will be on the quality/cleverness/thought put in to your poem. 

 

Winners

 

There will be at least one grand prize winner per category. Each grand prize winner will receive a permanent Alpaca mount and 2x Cheny's Soul.

Each participant will receive 1x Apple of Idun.

what will you be doing at the end? just once more, will we meet again?

 

At least spend these final moments with the people you want to meet one last time.

when i had a girlfriend, I would have spent this night here with her.

Five years ago when I was still a little boy, I picked up a sword for the first time in order to protect this place. During those five years, I struggled through the hell that training was, even though I had no special talent, because I knew that one day I would be able to return here.

 

Normal, everyday life is always on the verge of coming to an end. The repetition of each single day, all on the verge of the end, forms that normalcy. Sometimes newcomers may enter, but at the same time others must leave.

Changing ever so slightly bit by bit, it continues all the way up until that moment when it meets its true end.

 

It was a happy dream, but this is the end.

 

Tomorrow, we go to fight the Visitors, the enemies of all the humans living upon this land. When you say it like that, it sounds like a grand adventure with a heroic cause. But in the end, we will do the same thing that we’ve always done. For the things we want to protect. For the places we want to return home to. We take up our swords, fight, and survive.

 

The night wore on, with each passing minute bringing the morning of the final battle closer.

The long, long battle finally came to an end. The sun had already sunk and risen three times. A dry crackling sound came from his feet. Mustering all his remaining strength just to bend his neck and look down, the young man saw his ankles transforming into a lump of stone. The sound intensified as the dull, gray color climbed up his body. Knees. Thighs. Back. Up and up it went. Seven fatal curses all piled up on top of each other, mixing and interfering in a complex way to produce the phenomenon occurring in front of his eyes.

His entire body up to his chest now almost completely transformed into stone, the young man laughed.

 

“Well, I was planning on returning home… but I guess things aren’t going to work out so nicely.”

 

He gazed up at the sky and uttered his final words, in the vain hopes that they would reach those important people, who were surely somewhere far away, looking up at the same blue sky.

 

“Sorry, Leil. You’re gonna have to return home with just master.

 Sorry, Suwon. You’re gonna have to deal with Leila’s selfishness in my stead."

 

There were too many names he wanted to call in the too short time he had remaining. The young man sifted through all the faces floating around in his head and narrowed them down to just one.

 

“Almaria… I’m really sorry.”

 

The last name he chose was that of the ‘his lover’, who waited in an the vilage in a faraway land.

 

“It looks like I won’t be able to meet you again after all. I’m sure you’ll be fine on your own, but live a good life for me.”

 

"And also… also…"

 

As he spoke, his body continued to transform into stone at a frightening speed.

A soft clink signaled the end. All that remained was a mass of stone in the shape of a young man.

 

On the battlefield, where a towering mountain once stood, ocean water flowed into the newly created colossal gulf. The hellfires devouring the trees, showing no signs of extinguishing, left a trail of death and blackened ash in their wake.

Before I start my poem, there is a little brief about my love story and what inspire me to make this picture along with this poem. I was just a regular girl, just like any other, nothing special, nothing worth mention. He came, to see what inside that nothingness and made me feel special.
