Which one is great for pvm and pvp?

Tetra Vortex is better, Comet is weak and especially weak in PVM.

PVM:

tetra is good for single targetting, especially on big HP mobs. since you can control the element. you need to use release to use it constantly.

comet is good for lower to mid level. better now since you can use survivor rod + survivor shoes combo to leverage your comet damage by a lot.

 

PVP:

Comet is good in woe as crowd control. double released comet will often kill mass of people. more if you use fallen bishop card.

tetra is good finishing skill in PVP, not really useful in woe due to long time to do the setup.

 

conclusion:

every skill has their own pros/cons and condition. just learn how to maximize them.

its been years since comet had that killing potential in WoE :v
ppl hp pool+reductions have risen higher than Comet dmg

its pointless to count non properly geared ppl since anything would kill them at that point

There is also the very viable option of getting neither Comet nor Tetra Vortex.

Thank you all for your great feedback. I am raising my Warlock and need to choose which is better for mass killing specially in woe or pvp. I have only access to combo set items such as survivor set (in storage until it gets fixed by devs), celine set, la cryma pororoca and mdef piercing accessories but no MVP cards.

 

In my mind, I think I can help clear the woe/pvp area with Comet. How can I boost its damage and reduced cast time / delays? Are there any optimum builds for this?

I said it for comet:

Yes exactly. In any case, if one enemy is equipped with neutral reductions to counter comet, elemental aoe magic can clear the way.

You dont need neutral reductions to survive a comet.

comet's damage isnt high enough to make ppl wear dedicated reductions against it. Against anyone that is properly geared, it is fluff damage.
