Unfortunately the studio has informed us that they can no longer support the Windows XP operating system for Ragnarok Online. Due to this we urge users to upgrade to later versions of windows not just to play Ragnarok Online but also since the operating system is no longer supported by Microsoft. However, since we know that some users are still running the game on Windows XP they will give us a test build for Sakray to resolve the current Windows XP issue being experienced by users. When we receive it we will ask XP users to test this update to see if it resolves the issue as we do not have a Windows XP machines with which to test.

Thanks for this statement Campitor. I use Windows 10 and it runs well on my PC, but I do have friends and guildmates stuck with windows XP. Upgrading their OS may not be possible for now, unfortunately. I hope this issue will be resolved, so they can join our Easter weekend event.

Bet kRO still hasn't updated the game from DX7, regardless of them finally leaving XP behind.

I am able to log on Sakray with the windows XP computer with no issues thanks.

A Windows XP machine is not needed to test the client. You can run XP in a virtual machine to test it.

a few others and myself tested sakray to see if the issue  affected Renewal / Classic / sakray etc.

 

only the renewal client was not working. Sakray / classic is working fine.

 

testing the fix on sakray probably wont notice anything different. me speaking not sure about other users

since we can log on Sakray fine even before this new fix

And this is unfortunate, I hope my friends stuck with Windows XP have enough patience to wait till a month from now and not to quit RO, though I cant promise on that. I do what I can to keep them stay but I can only do as much, seems the decline in number of players isnt important to some people.

In short: XP is no longer supported by Microsoft, so it should not be surprising other companies are following suit.
