This post is to make a mathematical evaluation of the new battle surcoat assuming that RTB will never be able to crit.

Assumption 1

RTB takes priority over DA.

As we know, there's a 50% chance to get a DA and a 20% chance to get a RTB. Lets say you perform an attack and both chances hit, which skill takes priority to activate? RTB or DA?

I'm assuming that since Sigma and Ash has said that it is an auto-skill, it would take priority over DA which is a passive, leaving you with 20% chance to get RTB, 40% chance to get DA and 40% chance to get normal attacks

Assumption 2

25% Damage lost during RTB

In my own build, my crit attack dmg is approx. 4x my normal attack dmg, which means if RTB activates, i get only 75% of my normal crit dmg. Depending on your own crit gears, the damage loss will be different, but for now you can go with mine.

Assumption 3

All attacks besides RTB are critical.

Really not that hard to achieve.

Final Result:

With the 3 assumption, Battle surcoat will result in a

0.75*0.2 (RTB activate)  +   0.4*2 (double attack crit)  +   0.4 (crit attack)

= 1.35x increase of your current DPS

While you will lose approx 32% crit dmg using this coat over FAW Fatal433, the 1.35X increase in DPS is likely to be way larger than the 32% crit dmg. Your overall DPS will increase as a result of using this surcoat, assuming you are playing a CRIT class that does not already have double attack in their skill repertoire.

Evaluation:

Does it sound good? Yes, it's actually sounds not that bad, but that's where the trap is. In essence, there's basically only RK, MECH and AB that plays critical attacks without having some form of DA already. And only CRIT RK is even somewhat closer to playable amongst the 3, but there is literally no reason to use this coat for CRIT RKs as your priority is always to increase your Crush Strike damage. This coat would only increase the amount of RNG you face when using CS, since there is a 20% chance that your damage falls rather than increase due to the RTB activation. And honestly, which one of you have a crit mech/ab to play with? To conclude, this is a really crappy piece of Rare OCP garment that's only good in rare occasions.

Good luck to those selling it :D

tldr,

we worked this out and explained this yesterday.

I get people wanna try it for themselves, but it's not like you need long amounts of testing to realise the flaw in the garment. RTB -_-s it over, and RTB will never be a passive because kRO Rogues.

However, if you remove RTB it becomes essentially best in slot for any critical hit class or ANY class wanting to be a breaker. However this is not how the item functions so it is what it is.

The thing to mind is that it still results in greater DPS than any other crit garments for the classes that don't have DA, that's the discovery i want to point out here, despite its RTB flaws.

It's still really bad tho.

The RTB animation slows down the auto attacking. I feel like the dps lost during RTB proc is greater than 25% due to the animation conflict

if only warpportal is able to do this:

If refinement level is 10 or higher,
Disable [Raging Trifecta Blow] Lv10 skill

instantly transform the item into a S rank item, safely secure sales figure for current OCP
create an opportunity for the upcoming remix (safe to 10 certs)

kills all QQ and boycotting going on in the forum.

but it appears that there will no longer be "IRO custom"
all the OCP items that have been adjusted to by IRO and differs from JRO original script is under re-evaluation.

You also forgot the part where RTB is always Hit dependant, and it'll face the same issue DD Crit GXes had in the past if they ever picked DA :) (flat chance of straight out missing attacks on high flee targets).

And no, RTB delay cant be reduced by nothing but agi and low dex.

and here i tought spellfist buffed the attack. guess this confirms it, no use for it unless there is a good non crit AA build.

Spellfist does that, RTB does not.

Think of it as nothing more than a 20% chance to autocast a physical skill, let's say Bash for example.

Question for those who know: when RTB was a passive and could crit, did it still have the weird delay or was it like DA?

Afaik, it always had this delay so monks could combo easily.
