Hi everyone! so I'm witting this as a warning to everyone who likes and enjoy playing in this server. the number of scammers here are increasing.

 

If someone approached you asking you to be GM - ignore them

 

If they keep asking you, sending you private messages - ignore them

 

Read gramps questions in eden and if that person asking you to be GM keep explaining to you why they put those questions there and trying to convince you that they are giving you an exemption - do not believe them, ignore them, run away

 

DO NOT go to DISCORD

 

DO NOT download teamviewer - DO NOT give them access to your gravity folder. They will do something in your gravity folder that will change your character into a GM looking one or a sprite or whatever you call it. And if the admin in warpportal detects, they will ban you for impersonating a warpportal staff for 30 years no questions asked, even if you explain in your ticket it's not your fault this and that, they will still give you the same answer and your account will still get banned for 30 years. 

 

Last week,I was at work and when I came home my partner was so excited telling me that he will be a GM because this server is going to merge with brazil server and they need staff to run an event so they asking him to be a GM. Thank God, when I came home he didn't buy any of the codes they want him to buy just yet because I have the credit card. He told them I have the credit card so he can't buy any so they actually waited for me for THREE hours until i got home. I was so angry because I knew this is a scam and I told my partner no, at least we didn't lose any money. The sad part was he went to discord and chatting with the scammers for hours, the scammer name is [Removed], well i know  he is just pretending to be campitor but my partner believed him, unbelievable i was furious. Anyway, he alwso downloaded teamviewer and they have already changed my characters to [Removed] sprite!!! few mins later my account is blocked for 30 [Removed] years. I told my partner off, I told the scammer to [Removed] off, uninstalled RO, reseted the computer then redownloaded RO after. 

 

I submit a ticket on this matter to warpportal and like I said they told me that I was impersonating a staff hence my account is banned and the decision is irreversible and that if i submit a ticket again with the same problem then the answer is still the same. So it's like " too bad GG get over it"

 

Look out for yourself in this RO server, look out for your characters, your gears, your accounts, or else the time you spent here will go to waste.

 

I played here for more than three years, i been good made friends and enjoyed my time here. But I just lost a lot of characters that are all over lvl 100 and most of them are fully geared. Since the admin cannot help me in times like this then I am not willing to start from scratch again. All my hard work for three years levelling and acquiring gears etc. gone.  I see no point in doing that all over again since no one will help you in this situation anyway. 

 

I hope this message will help anyone and don't get scammed. because your admins will not help you once the scammers get into your gravity folder and change your character into a GM looking sprite. 

 

See you in 30 years, if this server still exist in 30 years but i doubt that because your population is dropping anyway. Or see you in other servers, because this is not the only RO server in the internet. 

 

For me, I rather go start where admin can actually help. Forgive me if i sound like a [Removed], upset and angry and disappointed. Since you said in your reply that you understand where i'm coming from anyway, right admin.

scold those ppl and call them retards the first thing anyone ask you if you live in Asia. They don’t deserve anything less for trying stupidnscams in a game with less than a thousand real players online every time

I wonder if GM even banned the root this must have been done by only one person and if he ip ban the person or this should not be an on going issue. Its been in iro since 6/7 years ago.

Discord is typically fine to use, but beware that if someone approaches you there posing as a staff member they likely are trying to scam you. 

 

In this case I believe the user is saying not to engage in conversations on discord if they are trying to talk to you there in a fake official capacity since there will be no records for the GM team to verify any conversations that have happened.

Always trust your gut. Warpportal does not recruit players in game for GM positions under any circumstances. They will also never ask you for your account information as GMs are able to log into anyone's account without needing you to tell them your password.

 

Be safe and if it smells like a scam, it probably is.

Yesterday someone come into my pub chat at Eden keep asking me that if I live at Asia or no. I smell it's like scam so I just reply once and ignored him/her.
And then someone also asked to help him to do some questionnaire of his school project and send me some website which is look suspicious. He said would give 50m and 10 Bloody Dead Branch if I did. But I didn't.

No, using Team Viewer is perfectly fine, the issue is when other players tell you to install it so they can control your computer and potentially do malicious things. Team Viewer allows people access to everything on your computer so they could infect your computer with a virus or a key logger to acquire passwords for everything, not just ragnarok online. This one is very serious as it can even access banking and credit card information if you use your computer for banking or have ever entered a credit card number.

And does this mean they went around pretending to be a GM after? Cause a sprite change would only be visible on your own client.

Damn these scammers! I hope you get your account back! Three years are a lot of time to invest and spend here in this game. I hope GMs will help and reconsider their decisions. In my case if someone entered my pub or pmd me if I live in Asia, I always reply back to them these words: I live in your mom's adult kittens. Then block the living hell out of them. I hope you get your account back. Three years invested in RO aint a joke.

There are frequent announcement regarding don't install team viewer if GM ask you. Even GRAMPS ask you. Blame yourself for being ignorant to not listen the warning.
