Seeking help in answering some questions regarding summons:

 

1) I am planning on maxing Vador on my Crec but am clueless on where the attack damage of the said summon base it. Is it on my MP or AP?

2) Do all DOT summons (defensive and offensive) base their effects on MP only?

3) Does Illusion of Moonlight drop Moonlight DNA?

 

Hope someone could clarify these inquiries.

1.  Pets get attack damage from a combination of Attack Power and Magic Power.

Oooohhhh, so that means Vador and other hitting summons get damage from both? Like Stainer, etc?

 

Err, I've tried with mermaid tho, added 200+ STR on my stats from hones yet the damage is still the same... :/

Also, I was thinking of getting the best DPS/DOT summons, may I know which ones to get for my Crec?

Test servers are down right now, but mscocca and I are almost certain that Illusion will still drop Moonlight DNA. Just saying that we have doubts about the previous claim and it is worth exploring.

Mermaid and Imp where always the best and easiest summons to get for your cres.  I can't remember what else to get, been too long since I looked into it.

Really the best, Arby! Will try to farm some later and see what I can find. On another note, is it true that Attack Summons (Stainer, Vador, ML, etc.) base their attacks on AP only? Am asking this because my Mermaid and Imp does DOT based on MP (had a misconception of taking both AP and MP into account of the DOT) and maybe Attack Summons only take into consideration STR/AP.

Yep, already have both but am still seeking advice on which other summons to spam.

Uh that'll take some time to run controlled tests if we want actual formulas but I'm not going to have time to go through that. I'll just make a generalizing statement: all pet damage is related to attack and magic, but each has different ratios (probably).

-Rarity Stars

-Level

-Attack Power

-Magic Power

-Weapon Min. & Max

-Weapon Refine bonus

Probably more beneficial to go with INT vs STR, I think cres has better dots than melee.  You can go either or, I just go full STR because no one else really does it, lol!

1: vador atk damage is based on your Atk power + magic power same goes with dot pets and healer pets.

If you want more info about vador, steiner pet which is single target is also same damage with vador even tho steiner pet skill is single target offensive unlike ML and vador which is aoe offensive.

Additionally, researcher and wild rose also single target which is better and cheaper alternative of vador. Lvl 4 wildrose > lvl 3 vador
Only slight difference.

If want aoe cheaper pet get wolf guy which is a 3 star pet
Easier to hunt as well compared to vador

2. Dot pets like I said above is also based on Ap + MP

Additonally, 200 str cant see much difference on dot because we have minimum and maximum output damage ranges so High so it is best to test it on lvl 1 and 1 star pet.
So if you get rsx the minimum and maximum range are drastically long so its hard to know the average.

Additional guide if you want to maximize your pet dot is

Better get int runes, and str hones on gears bec str gives higher value than int on sere gears
