So, the rebalance is here now and let's discuss about the differences between the two skills, i have myself some questions about it.

 

About BS
 

First of all, i'm currently using Brandish Spear and the damage is insane, almost 20k damage in a single use. i'm planning on using this character only for pve, AoE farming, MVPing, etc.

 

Unfortunately the earth deleter card doesn't work with brandish spear anymore cause now the damage is ranged (can't confirm that yet, anyone??)  but it's a very inaccessible card anyway.

 

The Brandish Spear formula is 1400%ATK. My knight has 420atk, doing the math, the damage scales up do 5880 damage, I'm assuming that's not the overall damage but I'm not really sure about it, correct me if I'm wrong, but my overall damage is way higher. Brandish Spear damage is not affected by the number of mobs around, which is pretty decent, making it an all around skill and good for MVPing, even using a one handed spear and shield you can still do some decent damage, kinda versatile. But daaamn that 24sp cost! Oh, and it benefits from ranged damage cards!

 

About BB

 

I sincerely don't know much about BB cause I didn't have the opportunity to test it yet, but that's the goal of this post anyway, to acquire knowledge!!

 

So, a lvl 10 BB does 500%atk damage (2 hits), with it's maximum damage (4 hits) it comes to a total of 1000%?? Or the damage keeps scaling according to the number of mobs??Would the damage be lesser than the BS? Cause BS is a 1400%atk hit? Man, that's where things start to get confuse, I know it's not that because the overall damage of BS and BB are pretty much the same in some cases, can't figure out what i'm missing here.

 

The only downsides i see in BB, is the 4 hit combo only working on mobbed monsters, and the 2H sword be mandatory. but with an earth deleter, may be worth it.

So far,

 

Brandish

- is ranged attack skill. So earth deleter won't work. So archer skeleton card works on this skill? I think let's treat Brandish as some kind of Dragon Breath skill. (Anyone tested Brandish affected by Hunter fly cards?)

- 2 cell knockback effect still works

- damage is 1400% PLUS STR stats effect. So 9x STR stats helps greatly for this skill

- Focus on SVD build

- Unlike BB, Brandish surely deals 1400% DMG to monsters regardless of number of its mobs. But will lose to BB if BB is used on 4 and more monsters.

 

BB

- Melee.

- damage analysis

 

1 monster: 2 hit (500% x 2 = 1000%) to 1 monster

2 monsters: 3 hits (500% x 3 = 1500%) to 2 monsters

3 monsters: 3 hits (500% x 3 = 1500%) to 3 monsters

4 and more monsters: 4 hits (500% x 4 = 2000%) to 4 and more monsters

 

So in order to maximize the damage, you need to mob AT LEAST 4 monsters to inflict that 2000% damage

 

What if i want to use it in WoE?

- Within 5x5, make sure you target at least 4 ENEMIES when they are usually precasting to make that 2000% damage to work (as long as you equip 2-hand sword)

- Otherwise, when you hit an enemy - it will be 1000% damage only

- since it relies on two hand swords for multiple hits to work. So AGI Build still suits with Two hand quicken buff that increase CRIT and HIT.

- knockback effect is more than 2 cells.. so it's kinda pain in the ass when you need to walk and loot from dead monsters far from you.

Both Brandish + BB can be endowed.

Do you know how the STR fits in the formula? I thought it was just because it gives Atk. So BB in theory does more damage targeting 4 enemies than Brandish

So, it doesn't say anything about STR stats, just %atk

It's said there:

Brandish Spear damage formula is (400+(SkillLvl*100)+(STR*5))%


Assuming you have 90 STR in total

Brandish spear lv 10 damage:

[400 + 1000 + (90 * 5)] = 1850% dmg

With a good weapon and good gear, damage can easily reach 5 digits


P/S: with these gigantic skill damage %, i think its pretty much useless if knights only use melee auto attack to kill enemies. So i rather suggest to make agi to be 1 (including BB) and focus more on other stats.. also need to consider putting more INT for SP regen especially for Brandish knight since earth deleter wont work on Brandish

Strictly personal opinion, not based - at all - in any kind of formula or whatever:

 

After this rebalance

BS >>>>>> BB, period.

 

BB was nearly the perfect skill for AoE farming, you could get your loot around your feet, easier and quicker way to loot. But now, after this update, the mob is knocked back and spreads all around you making looting way more time consuming and tedious.

Basically if you want more SP regen,

- chain mail/coat with 50+% SP recovery (roda frog / succubus if incubus is used)
- Headgear card with Incubus / Willow / carat(with +9headie) or wear Crown of Mistress
- Footwear card with sohee / Darklord with dark illussion card(MVP) / firelock(with +9footwear)
- SP stats on weapons (tentative if need extra MSP)
- 2 clips accessory

And some INT stats. Just remember every 6 INT get +1 SP regen. And every 100 MSP gets +1 SP regen

Lv 10 BS sp consumption is 24.. abit higher than lv 10 BB which is 22

While everyone enjoys BB or brandish, these two skills are going to be nerfed in Sakray by dealing 50% less damage in pvp/woe. If it gets tested and approved, the change will eventually reach RT soon. Not sure if they gonna nerf it in pvm too.
