Also, for new server

 

Reward old players with something... This Reset may sound good for all players who didn't invest time and money, but for those who did, this is the worst outcome possible...

So, i said that we deserve something, something that honor our time and money, dosn't need to be mall, or items that give advantage over other players but at least make it something unique.

A very old player here.

 

Finally, a rework to this game which I truly love is happening, but..

The history of mmorpg(s) has shown to us all that pay to win games will die after a REALLY short time, so after all what the other players suggested, add this one of mine.

If you will introduce again the pay to win mechanics, probably the game will not have more than the players it had for the last years ( maybe 100 ? )  and this wil end with a huge lost investement for you.

 

1) forget about the +30 stuff. I think you already know why, there is no need for me to explain. This is just one of the main things that killed the game.

2) the drop. The drop mechanism in requiem is obsolete today. While doing a raid, everyone shall receive an item equally, without the roll thing. OFC, the item is still random, but EVERYONE must have a chance to drop an item.

3) world events AND world boss ( take a look at guild wars 2 )

4) about the balance of the classes, I will add a small tip. Having to use a lot of skills is fun, but there should not be a situation where a skill/ DNA point is ALWAYS preferred over another one. Every skill must be important, same for the DNA points

5) most of the enchantments are useless. Also here, the played should not ALWAYS prefer one enchantment over another one

6) A DETAILED WIKI with math formulas and examples for damage/ stats calculation and all the rest of this stuff

7) Instead of pay to win, introduce SKINs. people go crazy for skins. skins for weapons, single pieces of armor ( ofc with NO BONUS, not even a plus 1 hp ), skins for mounts, etc etc..

    -Introduce utility items that help in GATHERING materials for crafting items ( related to @spider33 suggestion )

    -Premium is ok

    -Item to unbind account's bound stuff are ok

    -EXP bundle, drop rate bundle, gold rate bundle are ok

    -Make people convert item mall in lants AND viceversa ( huge profit here )

 

8) once the game is almost done, you have to spam everywhere about this game and convince people to play/ come back, since it has a BAD reputation, especially for the hack/ pay to win/ bad managment

9) give us news once every week. players like to be involved. If the news happen to be less frequent, this will result in less attention from us

10) let the players choose the stats they want on armor/ weapons, etc etc..

10) remember, you must give multiple reasons to the players, old and new, to play requiem instead of an up-to-date/ modern game. How? Delivering a up-to-date/ modern game too.

Hi, I'm an old European player from the early season bloodymare requiem times.

 

I played this game a lot and honestly if it were possible I would go back to playing it, given the news of the rework of the game, if it were possible i would dare my opinion / advice regarding the future possibility of this beautiful game.

Losing my profile with all my character profiles, time spent and money spent, honestly said it gives me a slight annoyance, but I am aware of the situation you have decided and I accept the loss of everything; and that's why as a veteran mmorpg player I would like to leave you some ideas about it.

I think it is now assumed that a BIG mistake of this game was the fact that it never '' evolved '' as far as the ptw is concerned, the ptw is now an outdated game method, I think since the beginning of 2000, replaced by the beautiful idea of: only aesthetic skin (character playr, mount ecc.).
Give all players a chance to be equality in armor, weapons, mounts etc. obviously with the game time feature that makes the difference, even personally as a player, to date I am more inclined to buy an aesthetic solo character skin, than to buy items (for example the mall points) to have a game difference compared to other players.

if it were possible i would dare my opinion / advice regarding the future possibility of this beautiful game

Being a player that was part of the original beta and for the first 4 years or so until the game became unplayable... I would love to be part of the development server. There needs to be participation from the community to help shape the alpha. Honestly I think that is what you are going to need (on top of a decent future marketing campaign) to get this shipped turned back around. "You can do it!"

agree with you this mmorpg worlds need this game back in open beta version and balance it.

11) make some item shop droppable from word events/ world boss/ boss hunting

12) enchant FOC and SVS with rewards, items and lant. The better the score, the better is the loot



Remember, you must give multiple reasons to the players, old and new, to play requiem instead of an up-to-date/ modern game. How? Delivering a up-to-date/ modern game too.
Spam from now everywhere ( youtube, social networks, blogs, etc etc.. ) about this project and convince people to play/ come back, since this game has a BAD reputation, especially for the hack/ pay to win/ bad managmen

Great news!

 

As you may know, Alteris, there are a lot of recent movie's remakes out there that were butchered because the producers forgot or just ignored the original's core or it's essence. 

 

If I'm not mistaken you are the one responsible for that ice dragon boss, forgot the name, that was indeed a good job but in terms of design it seemed, at least to me, a bit off Requiem's horror concept. 

 

So please, when you talk about building anew, I hope you don't mean at any case making it a cute anime Ragnarok like game. Keep the original designs, Havoc physics, the lore, the main mechanics (but fixed xD) and get rid of everything that was made after S2 only in order to milk us or "keeping the game alive". The game soul inmy eyes is slaughtering all, pvp and pve. I don't care for a bit of crafting or mini games if this really attracts more players as long as I can work on my toons grinding and fighting arenas.

 

You got over a decade of feedback and a huge amount of data concerning hits and misses that have been done during the Requiem's history. Bread and butter, man. Just go for it.

 

Looking forward for updates.

Do you have any set of goals that you're trying to achieve before certain dates (roadmap) or maybe an estimated date for when we can expect the game to be relaunched? The latter would be very helpful.

Also, are you seriously deleting all the players progress and cash shop investments just for bug fixes and balance changes? It seems odd to do that unless you're remaking the game on a new engine which doesn't seem to be the case...

EDIT: Nobody has responded for days... And I thought of a new question: Has anyone even asked for a Requiem relaunch? It's not even a substantial remake. People going to play a "new" game on a 25 year old game engine? Come on guys... :D I understand you don't want to shut down the project completely and the maintenance is not paying off... At least have some decency to put some effort into a remake. Don't give us the same old game just a bit better balanced with a bunch of bug fixes and expect players to start buying game credits again. By todays standards and what's on the market you will never get enough interest.

You are right, but the brutal reality is that WE are losing interest in this 'rework' each day that is passing by without a response from anyone of them.

If they don't care, why should we do that? They want to invest money, not you

We do already have games and friends to play with, so(;

 

I would not get surprised if in a bunch of days I will forget about this post, like maybe someone else already did

Im extremely scared that @alteris would hear some of the suggestion being made here, First theres a problem in the game and its the cashop... if you can buy mall items with Lants or items, then the game is going to fail, again... also the chash shop should not have items like reinforcement succes rate xeons, enchanting, or anything like that. we only need cosmetics items. and remove anything that could give you power when u use your wallet...

then about @Spider333 suggestions:
-Get rid of auto attack and attack speed altogether, keep 3 skill queue.

no pls... you are going to kill half of the characters out there, are you crazy?

-Add professions with success chance bonus for armor, weapon or potion crafting.
this is broken.

 

 

-Reduce the range of all cast and ranged skills to 25m max, reduce cast time.
-Cap AOE dmg and stun to max 4 targets for all classes.

-Give all melee classes 4 target AOE on all attack/stun  skills.

sounds like u where playing assasin or commander or berserker/wl  this is not good.

its not obsolete, big guilds like the one that i used to be we used it so keep the items on the correct char that can use it. so we dont have to spend on Binds or Bounds......

THIS IS NOT OK. this is the only MMORPG that actually makes a huge huge huge hugeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee hit in the player maket because of the bound/bind mechanic. its stupid, and the bound/bind mechanic has to be removed.
exp/drop/lant bonuses stackeable with premium, should not exist. IDC about premium TBH it could stay
convert mall items into lant, also should not exist in any game, it creates inflation on every item and if you cant farm lants, then u are -_- up in the ass so hard.

i dont want to be rude, but we are trying to make a better game no to repeat the same errors over and over and over again, learn form the mistakes, and the game will get ppl on.

My suggestions:

Bring Attack of Curse back, it was good, with no drain and no 2 hit effect, the original one.

Make Claws SS(Scad) Phys Based and Duals AA(cad) phys based and make claws able to be used by any class since theres no need on the restriction, all clases have the weapon restriction on their skills anyways.

Fix domi pets

 

Give us More raids

 

Remove Alternate nova jewelry, and relocate the Boss that drop weapons (and nerf the stats and dmg of those weapons) on another map like turba prision mine dungeon. and why there? well you can actually give that map more ppl and make prision workshop PVP zone so we have a use of this "early map"

intanced dungeons are kinda wierd tbf it needs some work why just dont make it open for everyone? this will increase the pvp a lot and will create a meta for supports and partys/builds like for example idk... Support Druid (promise of trust, natural healing, cry of will, aoe slows with vine, taunts etc) tempest Buffer (weapon for god, shields, mana regen, hp regen, atk speed) the old supportalist (bliss, healing, promise of trust, hp, debuff healing, aoe dots)

Keep the Rex quest its a good one but it need some fix cause those rex where bugged at targeting.

remove some power from some classes like the mystic, defiler, tempest and driuid/ele (funny, all are mages and can heal themselves and do stupids amounts of dmg and cc and farm everyting alone... lol) 

 

Bring Dirks into the game it was good to see a trow weapon.

 

Make Valdes set Usable

Nerf Maregall Sets if its going to be added, since the sets has a lot of raw power with scad/cad bonuses that makes everything easy OR instead of those sets put valdes sets on maregall and the problem will be fixed, and make it drop less armors and the drop should not be affected by premium

 

Set Armors shouldnt have Dmg increase on their basic options but it could be on the SET Item options, when u wear those items.

 

Knuckles never has to give %PCR (like the new ones...)

 

nerf stun durations

fix Druid Inferno Skils and make all melee PLS (inducing honeybee is long range, and Double Slash doesnt show the correct amount of dmg and make double slash 2 seconds cooldown instead of 3)

Fix absorbing energy formula: it deals phys and water dmg at the same time, thats why its so broken and heals by a lot (make it water only dmg or phys only dmg) same with ragining strike, and others strikes.

let the avenger use melee combat too its good actually having some SS phys char with the bombs and those things

 

keep wintress and put her on another place of nightmare cresent 

 

keep the lvl 15 map and make it a little bit harder. and make Chastle Sanctum Harder too.

 

No costume, Mount, or any item at charcter creation. this has made the early levels a lot easier and boring.

make Lyle Free, and add it at the mercernary shop at nova lux same with brianna, etc. and fix the mercenary points sistem, and the mercenarys too they are too weak

 

no gear should have the same amount of power than the TBF Stongest. PLS!

 

remove premium dungeon and tresure dungeon unlimited attempts for all the premiums acc.

remove raids resets

keep voxyon

remove regals keep the frozen ones

 

no one shoud have 100% SCC / PCC capped out defense/ressistances

 

remove Mythic doom cheras weapons/sets and titan ruinhorn ones

 

remove the minimun range requeriment on all battle magician, driud and elementalist skills, its annoying when u have that restriction cause you are playing with 200+ Ping

 

fix mobs AI or make them smarter please its boring

 

add infinity atma drop on nova lux + maps with a LOW chance 0.001% and Raids 50% Terrifiying Nightmare 0.01%(this one on plancy lab + maps)


Remove Phobias from elementalist!

Nerf Domi Curses that removes you Int, etc. and make it Lower like... 5% for 2 seconds and the cooldown 3 seconds (debuff success rate 50%)

Пишу на своем языке, так как не знаю английский, надеюсь переводчик все переведет правильно. Хочу выразить огромную благодарность всем, кто работал над этим проектом. Вы подарили нам незабываемые часы, дни и годы игры. Было очень приятно узнать, что у проекта будет перерождение. Я, как и многие другие игроки по всему свету, будем с нетерпением ждать новостей, касающихся выхода нового Реквиема. Раз вы смогли создать такую игру, то и продолжение будет достойное. Проект необычный, не похожий на другие игры, каждый игрок находил в нем что-то свое, что ему по душе, надеюсь в нем останется все это. Ведь кому-то нужно одиночное приключение, кому-то пвп, кому-то совместные походы в данжи, живое общение, кто-то нашел себя в торговле на аукционе, сильнейшие соревновались на арене и многое многое другое, и все это на фоне мрачной атмосферы этергии. Пожалуйста сохраните все это в будущем, пусть это будет такое же мрачное и небезопасное место, пусть будет еще сложнее выжить и приспособиться, ведь так интереснее. Я ставлю эту игру на первое место в своем списке по пережитым ощущениям и удовольствии от игры. Уважаемая команда Командный кошмар, пусть у вас получится сделать достойное продолжение Реквиема, сил вам, удачи и терпения!!!

Fix absorbing energy formula: it deals phys and water dmg at the same time, thats why its so broken and heals by a lot (make it water only dmg or phys only dmg) same with ragining strike, and others strikes.

let the avenger use melee combat too its good actually having some SS phys char with the bombs and those things

 

keep wintress and put her on another place of nightmare cresent 

 

keep the lvl 15 map and make it a little bit harder. and make Chastle Sanctum Harder too.

 

No costume, Mount, or any item at charcter creation. this has made the early levels a lot easier and boring.

make Lyle Free, and add it at the mercernary shop at nova lux same with brianna, etc. and fix the mercenary points sistem, and the mercenarys too they are too weak

 

no gear should have the same amount of power than the TBF Stongest. PLS!

 

remove premium dungeon and tresure dungeon unlimited attempts for all the premiums acc.

remove raids resets

keep voxyon

remove regals keep the frozen ones

 

no one shoud have 100% SCC / PCC capped out defense/ressistances

 

remove Mythic doom cheras weapons/sets and titan ruinhorn ones

 

remove the minimun range requeriment on all battle magician, driud and elementalist skills, its annoying when u have that restriction cause you are playing with 200+ Ping

 

fix mobs AI or make them smarter please its boring

 

add infinity atma drop on nova lux + maps with a LOW chance 0.001% and Raids 50% Terrifiying Nightmare 0.01%(this one on plancy lab + maps)


Remove Phobias from elementalist!

Nerf Domi Curses that removes you Int, etc. and make it Lower like... 5% for 2 seconds and the cooldown 3 seconds (debuff success rate 50%)

 

First off AA is pointless it robs you more than it will ever help.

 

Cosmetics only in cash shop? You do realize it was Gravity implementing pay to win items to ensure stronger gear. In fact this is the primary reason they merely developed armors and gear than actual content in the form of new dungeons raids that are not already recycled assets like the pathetic Black Tower that is a reuse of the Ancient Ruins map. Because players spend money to enhance gear to remain on top I think even a simpleton can understand this.

 

Also why the hell do you want to allow PVP in any fashion within Turba (@Prison workshop) other than Guild VS Guild war. You have to be a troll that enjoys PKing lowbies. This is unacceptable and is the primary reason for new players abandoning this pay to win crap when they realize they need to spend cash reinforcing gears just to farm more gear to rinse and repeat.

 

Why remove the Premium dungeon? Sure I'd like for them to not overuse the same "prison mine" instance but the premium dungeon is how to farm xeons take that away and you merely increase the grind for materials. I sure hell don't like grinding longer just to get basic xeons which is like currency when you think about it. Besides that you'll be taking away the primary reason to even have premium in the first place the bonus for exp, lant & item drop increase, death penalty reduction, and common bank slots are trivial and do not merit the cost of premium in terms of value. 

 

 

I could go on forever but you obviously do not have any suggestion worth merit that will ever save this game. You better start looking for another game to exploit.

Suggestions for Requiem 2:

 

I think the implement of +30 and taking away the "Reinforced" crafting option was a bad choice. (this was memento mori patch if I'm not mistaken) Either bring back reinforced gear or nerf the gear + system. Make it +5 or 10 at most, maybe a glow or effect at max? Make it difficult to plus + but easy to get materials, and NOT cost real $$

 

I think the compounding system works just needs to be polished and easier to access recipes, there should be more freedom with stat xeons I.E. hp xeon, citical xeon, mp xeon, freedom as in, we can slot them into any enchanting slot, or compound them to make greater versions that are viable throughout the game. 

 

Nightmare needs to be more.. interactive and rewarding... make it worth it to go out and hunt nightmare monsters, make some areas that were easy to traverse, NOT easy due to nightmare mobs or environmental hazards, make the environment crawl!!! (terrifying nightmare mob drops were a step in the right direction, along with the unique ordainments you could compound)  Nightmare world bosses would be exciting and brings players together. Maybe a nightmare dungeon??? (entrance to said dungeon only is seen and accessible at the appropriate area and time) 

 

Nightmare Enemy artwork design..... All of us can agree on one thing here. NO MORE RECYCLED CONTENT. even if you take a regular old koont and make him sprout a tentacle out of his body for nightmare mode and adjust his animations, its way better then the god damn nightmare baby that pops up in 3 different locations, looks exactly the same, does the same sound effects, and same attacks. please.. no more..

 

 

 

All success rate % and stat bonuses (costume hp/mp bonus) NEED TO BE REMOVED FROM ITEM MALL. This is an absolute must, EVERY player will agree..  it helped kill the game quick.

All right, ok, it seams there's some 'splainin' I need to do here.

 

Talking about changes in general, there are 2 approaches. One is tweaks, and the second one is TOTAL REWORK!

From what I have read, you are suggesting minor tweaks here and there, change this skill, add that item...

 

What I am suggesting is not just delete AA and attack speed and leave everything else as it is. Yeah, that is a recipe for disaster, and exactly the way it has been done all these years.

So what I am suggesting instead is a CLEAN SLATE. Give us a new reworked fighting system, change everything.

 

Meaning:  remove AA, attack speed, fix evasion, make accuracy work, 25m ranged skills, give all classes AOE skills, no dash on target, max 3 sec stun...

My point is, build a game around these changes and MAKE IT BALANCED!

 

What is the point of a class that has 20 skills in a skill tree, but only uses 2 of those? I mean, at this point might as well delete all the skills and just leave AA with insane HP and 100% crit chance... oops, wait, that's exactly what we have now.

 

On professions, what I am suggesting, again, is a creation of a new system. Yes, just like seen in other MMOs, it's what people like, and it adds a lot to the end game content. Shouldn't be too hard to do, just add permanent success rate bonuses to the character selected profession, based on previous crafting experience and voila.

 

I've played all the classes, multiple takes, but the division has always been between melee and ranged/caster in favor of the later ones.

Just check the leader boards and kill/death ratios. The only melee classes that could consistently get kills were Berserker and Assassin. Why? Because Zerk has one 33m ranged skill with stun. Same goes for the assassin class.

All the top spots are held by caster classes.

Obviously, ranged/cast skills have too high dmg, too big of a range, so to balance things out those stats should be lowered while HP, evasion, and dash skills should be added to the casting classes. All of which should make gameplay more fun and less glass cannon like.

 I mean there are so many things that could be done to improve this game, easy. If there is a will, there is a way.

 

Remains to be seen what will Gravity do, if they do anything at all after the shutdown tomorrow.

Well, for what it looks, the "improvement" and "polishing" are nothing but erasing player's data and fixing basic stuff. Which is great yet I've expected a lot more by the first time I've read "Nightmare TEAM" (Hellium and Alteris I presume)".

 

So, considering this, there's nothing much left to suggest besides the obvious: fix the game client, with no more Error 06/08/Missing old file bla bla at launching it, make it work properly via Steam, unbann UE players, ban botters/cheaters (or better, prevent them to be)...

 

Not sure if its worth to advertise Requiem once again since players nowadays are all about graphics and you wont deliver 'em that. Really nice to see you guys working to keep the game alive or even making this just in order to milk us once again for a little longer so, I'd like to propose a few things:

 

- Make the game harder at it's early steps. Bring back low level content (old quests too!) so the players can work their way around Turba, Parness and even Crescent/Valdes. Pretty lame to just "poof" to level 70 and skip half the world's map;

- Dont make anything too radical when it comes to class balance. A guy above even suggested getting rid of AA lol. The heck... Everybody knows prots and vengers needs a boost, maybe you should give us a better way to defend ourselves from AoE mages on battlefields since their damage output is ridiculous. Or maybe you could make mana/MND aspect a bit important by increasing centain spells mana consume.... or just leave them as they are. Overall, you can boost or change a lot of unused skills so players may have more options besides the "best one" when it comes to skill building. And oh yeah, Kruxena PB sucks big time, you should take a look at it too. 

- Guess I'm alone here, but I really do think you should take into account removing most of the content realeased after/during S2. I mean honor points, recolored equipment, weapons, bosses, maps, compounding formulas, op enchants, event stuff, boring kill or collect X of Y quests... and rethink the best way to use Rozen assets and all these ideas in the near future once the basic and really needes stuff is fixed.

- When it comes to cash shop, I can clearly see Requiem only surviving this far cause of its milking potential. Of course, 40% + HP, pet growths and a lot of % bonuses are just stupid and beyond the limits of P2W. Don't think you need those to keep a nice revenue from the game.

 

Maybe if you succeed doing so and finally fixing game's lifetime errors, it's economy and getting rid of cheaters we can then hope for new content such as new maps, raids, not recolored stuff and maybe new races and classes. Always wanted to play as a Nach or Eonay.

Oh, I forgot. The pixel shader uses a Boolean operation. For DX 9.0c, branching is resource intensive. Its best to avoid Booleans and figure out a way to accomplish the same thing with a floating-point operation. If that is not possible, then try to do the Boolean before the pixel shader so it's not performed 2~8 million times every 1/60th a second.

 

The Boolean in this case deals with Specular Levels and Opacity. When space was limited in 2004 it may have been an issue, but in 2022 there should be no reason to combine these in the same alpha mask.
