Any thoughts about how best to attack the new high level maps on a physical RK? Right now I'm running a STR/LUK/AGI critical RK build that shortchanges DEX - this was no problem for mob leveling prior to 175, because it's generally possible (if a tad pricy) to push IB damage high enough to one shot non-boss monsters in the old "end game" leveling areas like NCT (and crit, obviously, takes care of anything worth fighting solo, like MVPs). So, cast time was mostly moot when I was mob leveling in those areas.
But IB isn't MA/Enforcer Shoes, even with multiple True Seyrens and ORC, and so one shot IB kills just aren't happening with the 1-2 million HP critters that roam the new maps. It's taking me four-ish casts of IB to bring down a mob of Nogg 3 monsters, and my cast delays are adding up to pretty inefficient leveling. (And, while it's possible to go crit on these monsters one or two at a time, and even take on small mobs leveraging Gambler's Set's splash effect, I guess I'm belaboring the obvious to say this isn't an efficient approach either, even with a decent stack of consumables and gear - Tursisus, Lindy, etc. I'm going to do some experimenting with Frenzy and Gambler's Set, but I doubt that a gonzo approach like this would be playable/sustainable long term)
My first thought is to respec into a "pure" IB build until I hit the new 185 cap - 120 STR, 120 INT, 90 DEX, 90 VIT, change in AGI - built around Seraphim Coronet and fast casting speed. But, honestly, given that it's tough to push IB damage beyond 300K except in cases where you can stack juicy type bonuses (Faceworm Nest), and the new high level maps feature a mélange of monster types, physical RK leveling prospects seem a little grim no matter how I look at them. Even a "fast cast" IB build seems like it's going to be pretty slow going because you'll need at least 4-5 casts to take down a mob. Maybe solo play is more or less out for physical RKs on these maps? But maybe I'm missing something.
Any thoughts?
