No, your latest censorship does not line up with the forum rules and addendums.

This thread came to be after you said, on the latest patch notes:

"Cleaned up some of the comments which were repeating others earlier messages especially about bugs and map issues. I don't feel having literally dozens to hundreds of notes about what are obviously universal issues is helpful for this topic.

Also some messages which normally would be fine were removed (e.g. saying 'thanks' or other short back and forth messages) as there is a very large amount of traffic to this topic and having relevant information visible remains very important.

Lastly be aware newer messages will continue to be removed once they contain outdated information like map crash warnings when it's clear those maps have been fixed.

 

P.S. Appreciate all the map warnings and good insight into the changes that has been shared so far!"

Forum rules do not allow you to clean up comments that were repeating others. Spamming is when a person is saying the same thing over and over. Other people can say the same if their problems are the same. That is a way of pressuring the company to act, to let them know they all have the same problems or demand for a similar solution. You clearly were silencing them.

Forum rules do not allow you to decide to remove posts based on your "feelings" that there would be an excessive amount of posts.

Forum rules do not allow you to remove messages THAT ARE ALLOWED! Nothing there says you can just decide to take out messages that "normally would be fine", like people thanking or other short messages!

Forum rules do not allow you to remove messages based on the amount of traffic on a thread.

 

Also, remember it was you who said, at the previous patch note:

"Locking this so any bug discussions can happen in the maintenance topic for the 4th class update."

Emphasis to ANY BUGS. So people can talk about universal issues happening after the maintenance there and any bugs they are facing after the maintenance.
 

As for the forum's role in reporting game issues, No it 100% is NOT the proper way to report game issues to the GMs. Stating issues publicly so others can also cheat in a similar way is not helpful! WP has asked players to use the ticket/email system to privately inform them of those issues. Also as for Mayari I can't think of a single time they helped on a ticket related to someone cheating or times where they would just proactively help someone with an in-game issue, but I can think of plenty of times where she helped people write tickets and otherwise help on tickets which were already made.

I can testify against that. CMMayari actually proactively offered players help. She literally would see people complaining about issues and she would reply, publicly on the thread, that they should open a ticket, send her the number and she would help on finding a solution. She wouldn't erase a message complaining about a bug, but offer help and teach the best course of action. You yourself recognize she helped solving tickets about in-game issues. I know that because she did that to me! That is literally a way that, throgh a complaint about a bug in the forums, CMs and others in the forums can proactively help someone with in-game issues. And she wouldn't just simply help on sending a ticket, she would talk to the team and reply to us what they told. So I believe you are 100% wrong here.

Besides, Camptor used to make Good Morning threads literally discussing in-game issues. So the forums are a place to report, discuss and get informations about in-game issues/bugs.

And, to use your same reasoning, it doesn't matter that you believe it is not proper. If the forum rules do not forbid players to report in-game issues, you cannot erase them.

I truly hope you reflect on your actions as what you did was an abuse of power and censorship.

but on serious note. there's a serious lack of communication between the production team and the players and given currently that iRO 4th job update is a massive failure (yea, cause aside from bugs, we actually forgot the new elemental table xD)

 

and vmod ice isn't really helping either. oh well, my rate is 4/10, i had my own fair share of terrible player-production team communication but this one is just a classic. its like reddit mod and the reddit user xD

everything the vmod does is established here. It's one thing to break forums rules, it's another to complain because they hurt your feelings. it's even suggested in that forums section that they can do things if they deem necessary. pretty sure camp posted a chain of command for when you have an issue with a person on here as well.

note: i see quitting threads all the time. Don't know if anything is done as i usually end up ignoring and forgetting.

these types of threads while usually having good intention to bring up discussion end bad on a blame game and defending yourself.

First of all, when you say ongoing harassment, how do you prove that guy mentioned by a crowd of people is innocent. Bad mouth on an innocent person is harassing, but on a real “criminal” is NOT. I don’t think that crowd is so boring to call it out, and I also believe they must have sent tickets to your GMs with some proof already and got nonsense response (I did experience that a lot). The disconnection issue is real here, and is NOT frictional, which means either WP computer system is being attacked, or WP hardware is really trash and the team is maintaining for nothing. Either way won’t make WP look any better.

Again, I wanna say, people are expressing their anger and frustration on that half baked maintenance, not some other random drama from WOE and so on, should everyone just say “all hail WP” in a maint thread? Almost all maps are still down now with WP team doing nothing so far, tbh, WP might even be sued for this, everyone is independent and why do they must know if someone already posted the similar thing? Do you rather wanna see a thousand post related to a single issue, or a central place gathering similar comments? I still don’t understand your logic here to encouraging people writing more posts to distract, or that is your real purpose?

I don't know where you're from but in any civilized country, it's innocent until proven guilty. Any country that is "you're guilty until proven innocent" are the most corrupted and/or poorest country. If that is how your country run things, I'd start looking for a way out of your country. I'm not here to defend anyone but imagine if I called you a duper and you got banned and will stay banned until you can come up with proof that you aren't. Meanwhile you're trying to prove yourself innocent, you may not have access to your account for up to months at a time. Then if you got lucky and found proof, I could get you banned again by simply accusing you again.

I understand everyone wants to make the game better, not only you and me, but all normal players. What I was not happy was Vmod abusing his privilege to remove valid comments and doing censorship based on his/her personal feeling. Since Vmod is also a player, I don't think he/she should be any different than us (i.e, why can a player remove another player's valid concerns).

all icecreamcake did was make a misjudgment/mistake on how to manage the loads of information about the latest shenanigans update and they've been raked over the coals and called a fascist and accused of colluding with the mysterious duper

 

we are going to put the word censorship (and fascist) away in a box on a high shelf until people understand what it actually means and why throwing it around in this case is not reflective of what it actually means

 

i think that we have all come to the conclusion that having that all that info available from the player base is useful and shows how the issues have evolved - at least the vmod showed up to work, unlike anybody else at WP who could have dropped in at any time to be like, yeah the map servers are freaking out here's the process to fix it vs "we're working on it! (:" and then we don't even know what "it" is. oh rodex is fixed? nah still gotta wait two weeks or send a ticket in and then did they even clarify on that?

Eh, the CMs are the liaisons between players and staff. vMods keep the forums clean.

 

And all I'll say is, be glad I'm not a vMod. I'd have 90% of the topics/posts in the General section rotting in the help forums by now. Ya'll are just making IceCream your scapegoat. You should be directing your energy towards the actual staff and the piss-poor product that they're putting out, not to mention they're lack of communication. And don't forget to tell the "GMs" how much they suck when you send a ticket in.

I do agree if there are dupers, they should be perma-banned once it's a confirmed case. Who's to say some of them aren't already though? Assuming the DCs are duper at work is speculation, things like that gets thrown out by judges in court asap. I don't know what "proofs" were sent in but I think it's safe to assume proof of screenshot of alot of a singular item being a proof of duping falls under speculation, not proof. Other than that, I'm not sure what proofs can be sent in. That's why I'm curious on what kind of proofs are being sent in.
