First of all i want to acknowledge that the issue has been addressed, that being said i believe there is still something to be made, when the bug occurred any biochemist that experienced the bug got the quest chain broken, which means there is no way to proceed because the character didn't get the quest and now we can't talk to the npc that gives it (Demmi Calverine has no interaction), the quest is given when you get teleported to the cage to kill spores, there should be a way to 'purge' the quest flags so that characters affected can proceed properly.
