Hi all :-)

 

I hope I'm posting this at the right place.

 

My question is: how, as a solo wizard (level 82 at the moment), can I best deal with monsters that have a bow?

 

I sometimes use Frost Nova lvl 1, due to the short casting time, hoping that they will freeze while I cast something else, but then the chance of freezing them is not great, and some monsters are immune to water (Gargoyle, for instance).

 

So, what do you guys do against bows?

you cast firewall and keep them at bay. then you use heavens drive to finish the job. range is wizards weakness back in the day when there was no gear. so wizards will have lots of trouble with those type of mobs when you're poor.

2. phen and pots

3. fast spells (soul strike / release) 

4. heal or pneuma buddy/ paladin sacrifice

5. drain life / phen

6. hide and call a friend.

You can also cast quaq mire on the monster in order to reduce their hit rate to have a chance to miss atk on you. But i would recommend to shift to other levelling location. Try to do soul strikes on evil druid and wraths on St Abbey or Dark Priest on GH church. If you have some zeny buy bloody butterfly / phen card (or activate 1 day vip from daily login and complete overlook water dungeon quest hunts to get free phen card), when your cast is interruptable, use quaq mire + storm gust on these undead monsters
