I did thorough testing of the equipment hoping the "+15" requirement was just a description error. However, after upgrading the Royal Nightwatch Cape to +12, +13, then +14 and testing it at each refinement level, I did not get the +40% Long Range Damage Bonus at +14. I have also sent a ticket and sadly, the GM that responded to my ticket stated that the +15 refine requirement is a feature and intended, which is completely UNFAIR for several reasons. See screenshots and my argument points below:

1. I would like to ask, who even designed this and why was this approved? The request for this was made by another player not long ago, but they completely changed the skills it is supposed to buff. It should not be called a Nightwatch Cape if it buffs Rebellion Class Skills that Night Watches don’t use at the end game.

 

2. Why is the Royal Nightwatch Cape [Grade A] Refinement Bonus is set to +15, when ALL OTHER Royal "City" Capes have their [GRADE A] refinement bonuses at +14? Even the [Grade D] and [Grade B] bonuses of the cape are nerfed. Look at the comparison below.

 

  • Royal Prontera Cape: [Grade D] ATK +100, [Grade B] P.ATK +20, [Grade A] Refine Bonus = +14
  • Royal Payon Cape: [Grade D] ATK +100, [Grade B] P.ATK +20, [Grade A] Refine Bonus = +14
  • Royal Geffen Cape: [Grade D] MATK +100, [Grade B] S.MATK +20, [Grade A] Refine Bonus = +14
  • Royal Alberta Cape: [Grade D] ATK +100, [Grade B] P.ATK +20, [Grade A] Refine Bonus = +14
  • Royal Nightwatch Cape: [Grade D] ATK +50??, [Grade B] P.ATK +10??, [Grade A] Refine Bonus = +15??

 

3. These iRO Capes are Level 2 Armors. There is NO SAFE or GUARANTEED Method of upgrading Level 2 Armors past +14. Blacksmith Blessings (BSB’s) only work up to +14. Attempting to refine any Level 2 Armor To +15 has an 85%-90% CHANCE OF BREAKING, depending if there is a refine rate boost event or not. Nobody in the right mind will risk that on expensive, cash shop equipment.

 

4. Why is the Royal Nightwatch Cape the ONLY Level 2 Armor in game, whether it be an iRO custom or from other servers, to have a Refine Bonus requirement of +15, when ALL OTHER Level 2 Armor bonuses typically cap at +14?

 

 

So, with all that said, Please change/fix the [GRADE A] Refine Bonus requirement of the Royal Nightwatch Cape back to +14 so that it MATCHES ALL OTHER Capes currently in the game.

 

If it is not possible to change the requirement, you should give an explanation. You keep buffing certain classes (Particularly Elemental Master and Biolo), but nerf this item for a class that very few players play as their main. It would then be obvious that this absurd change to the item is a targeted case against the class, and perhaps to even a certain player. The disfavor against Night Watches will be made very apparent, UNLESS you change ALL THE OTHER CAPE refine requirements to +15, and/or Add this requirement future Level 2 Armors as well.

 

If +15 Level 2 Armors is the new trend moving forward, you should make an iRO custom for safe refining. The best solution is to make BSB’s work up to +15. You guys like money right? Then this will probably make you more money.

You know what, Storm? You’re actually right. The Royal Nightwatch Cape needing +15 for the bonus when all the other capes get theirs at +14 is pretty inconsistent. It just makes upgrading unnecessarily harder compared to the rest. Hopefully, they adjust it to match the others!
Please don’t nerf the No.1 IRO Nightwatch! The class is strong, but it takes skill, investment, and strategy to play at the highest level. Instead of nerfing, maybe focus on balancing other classes or fixing existing issues to keep competition fair and engaging!!!

pretty sure gravity is testing how far will ppl go to get what players want. 

 

this is funny cause if this were true, theyll just anger the less than 10 NW mains in the game which is nothing lol.

 

they wont change this to +14 is my thought on this.

Wow that's BS. Keep bumping this until GMs do something about it. +15 on a level 2 armor? You guys are going too far. Decrease the 40% Long Range Damage to 25~30% if you have to, we'll trade that for a +14. +15, again, keep bumping this guys. This is ridiculous.

Well, what people really wanted was the Royal Alberta Cape. At least 5x more people requested that on the OCP Wishlist Thread, and it was discussed on Discord a lot. We got it, not exactly as people expected it to be, but it’s the best for the jobs it’s meant for. So if the GM’s really wanted to test how far people will go, they could have easily added the +15 requirement to this cape instead of the Nightwatch one as it is more in demand. There are likely more people willing to take the risk to upgrade it, though there will be more backlash.

 

However, there was just 1 guy that requested the Nightwatch Cape, to buff Night Watch skills, not Rebellion skills as they get phased out shortly after we job change. What did we get? A Rebellion oriented cape, with HALF the grade bonuses compared to all other capes, and the ONLY Level 2 Armor +15 upgrade requirement of any armor in the game, and probably across all other official servers.

 

These 2 capes were released at the same time, but the weaker, less in demand one, just happened to get this treatment. Plus, it’s not even overpowered to begin with, compared to all the power creep items Elemental Masters and Biolo’s have gotten recently.

 

The way I see it is, if the Nightwatch cape +15 upgrade requirement is not revised, AND all other  future equipment upgrade requirement caps at +14, then this would definitely feel like a targeted case against the class. Somebody is just hating, and/or really doesn’t know anything about the game.

Yes, it is very BS. They should keep the 40% Long Range Damage as is, it’s not overpowered compared to recent equipment we’ve gotten for other jobs. Anyways, I’ve done everything I can, sent a ticket, PM’d GMs/CMs, and even spoke to the GM in-game during the Hide&Seek Event. I’m glad this GM actually communicated with players compared to others I’ve encountered in-game. Only time will tell what happens to the equipment, let’s wait and see.

Either change back to +14 (preferable cause u mess up) or make a +15 refine ticket for weapong 5 and armor 2 (i hate it)

The cape should give the same Atk and p.atk buff as the other capes and have the same refinement requirements for the sake of consistency, otherwise we should get an explanation on why they tought this cape required this deviation from the other designs, quite simple

Sell safe to +15 cert on Cash shop. Due to a possible duping, keeping BSB limit to +14 seems fair. Not only safe to +15, but onward higher refinement certs, must only be sold via cash shop.

Thats it if WP wants to make money, and make sure dupers don't really rely on a loophole via duping to take advantages of it.

I don't think it's right that 1 class gets to have a very unreasonable requirement which is +15 and have NO WAY TO EVEN ACHIEVE IT SAFELY.

 

Why not put a level 2 armor +15 safe cert for these??  :blush: 

 

If not, then please at least make the requirements +14 where people actually can do like the other capes.  :Emo_21:
