There are 3 servers.

Valkyrie (accessed through Valkyrie client), the free server
Ymir (accessed through Renewal client), the main premium (pay2play) server. Going free2play-except-for-char-creation in a month or so.
Yggdrasil (accessed through Renewal client), a low population premium (pay2play) server. Going free2play-except-for-char-creation in a month or so.

That's because the renewal servers are still both pay to play. If you haven't paid for an account, you can't play on those servers (for now).

As i said, to access Valkyrie, currently the only free2play server, you need to start the Valkyrie client.

The "Ragnarok Renewal" client accesses the two pay2play servers.
These servers will be free2play starting in a month or so (approximately), but are not free yet. Once they are free2play, they will still require a paid subscription to enable creation of characters (this serves mainly keep the bots out).

Despite the names, all servers DO have the Renewal update.
