It is also pretty unique in that you can max your level on a specific monster instead of changing maps all the time and fighting every monster in the game for 15 minutes each.
Another thing that makes it unique is the interdependence of characters, it's nearly impossible to solo certain characters without proper support.
It's also unique in that the top tier gear in the game is limited to a select few players, rather than everyone who is proper level.
Oh who am I kidding, all that may have been true five years ago.

Also, in a complete contrary of many other games, It's only RO where I feel like every character has it's own feeling, if you play it.
In game's like WoW all you do is target a monster, press buttons 1-6 repeatly, change to the next monster. Nearly the same for healers only with targeting players...
In RO it depends A LOT to your character and build. You can mob (where you have to look where you set your next step), you can single kill just by ctrl+klicking, you can kill with various skills or with one single skill.
But alone with the way how you're casting most of the skills (Press F1, use mouse to klick on target) I have the feeling of doing more than just button smashing.
Maybe I'm unique in that point of view, but really, the fighting system is it what keeps me more close to RO than any other game and also make me enjoy RO after nearly 7 years of playing now...

I like how your stats matter, and a well-planned build with certain breakpoints will always be superior to a randomly assembled build that just has "a lot" in a few stats that seem important.

I haven't seen a single game yet, that allows so much freedom in builds and character creation (not visual) than RO.

I think both described well, even now in renewal with a bleak looking future, RO still has its own charm making the players fight to keep the feeling.
I cannot say this of other games

Leveling ...... meh. its like every other mmo now, except gear isnt as easily obtained. So many classes grind to a halt (in comparison to others) shortly after becoming 3rd class its not funny. God help the supernovices.

Not on the same RO account, no.
I think they are referring to your characters being locked to your gender or account gender.
How did you evade the avatar stretching?

Look at WoW's Priests. They are able to be killers (dark or even holy) or great healers. Now look the RO priest branch. Priest class can... wear cute hats!! <3

Not so unique since Vindictus does the same thing. Also, it's very contradictory to the nature of RP in a MMORPG.I think they are referring to your characters being locked to your gender or account gender.
My avatar is awesome by nature and is thus immune to the retardedness of the forums. How did you evade the avatar stretching?
