Mostly, it is to prevent pointless fleeing toward the end of a round just to prolong it, an unnecessary waste of time (I want these matches to run as quickly as possible so we can fit in enough to allow all teams to participate once each week).

EDIT: 2 TEAMS SO FAR! Make sure to submit your rosters before the Week 1 deadline, April 6, @ 6 p.m. PST (9 p.m. EST).

probably so people don't just do that the whole match after killing 1 member of the other team?

If a team is bad enough to not be able to catch 3 people jump dashing, they deserve to lose

i think Aiming (aiming got that crit rate passive) should be restricted for archers
for the unfair crit rate

also is AAS lock allowed? :\ or will we have a 4sec rule :o

Keep in mind, these skill restrictions are only a starting point. I figure the first 2-3 weeks of matches will be a "testing phase," so to speak, with minor or major adjustments each week until we find rules that give every class a chance to play a meaningful role. Skill restrictions may be eliminated altogether, if that is something the community seems to favor. After the first week, I'll be asking for feedback from the teams that participated and probably creating a poll with several different options for further balancing.

Also, please keep in mind that completely balancing PvP down to a T across all classes is impossible. My main objective is to ensure that STRATEGY plays a big role in winning matches (not gear, obviously, and not the use of OP or easy-mode skills). I want matches to be a TEAM EFFORT, forcing all players to play a significant role and contribute, and also to encourage players to start thinking in terms of cross-class combos, playing support, etc., rather than how they can be most effective on their own.

EDIT: Also, while it would be nice to ban locks, I'm afraid enforcing that kind of rule becomes problematic. It's simple enough when dealing w/ 1v1 matches, but in the chaos of a 3v3, it would be difficult to lay down and enforce hard-and-fast rules about what does and does not count as a lock.

Besides, part of TEAMWORK is watching out for your teammates and saving them from locks.

sorry for double post, but why death match? people who die during a match shouldn't get the opportunity to come back to life and kill a person at half life or w.e they are at (just my take on this)
