I'm beginning to wonder if either of you know what Christmas and Easter are about. Both have been completely neutered of any religious affiliation at this point. There are some that still try to cling to it, though.
Christmas is a holiday celebrated about a magical elf giving gifts to people. Even he has gone through some changes. He used to be short and fat just like the other elves, but over time he's changed. What is it supposed to celebrate? The birth of Jesus. People that try to say they still celebrate it for that, but have a Christmas tree up are the ones creating a double standard.
And as far as Easter goes that's even worse. I can see the Christmas similarities thing with the 3 wise men giving gifts so on Christmas we give gifts, but on Easter we give candy, find eggs, and look to a magical bunny that poops jelly beans as the mascot. This has nothing to do with Jesus rising from the dead, and that's all that Easter is about. Its not about family, its not about gathering together or seeing loved ones, its only about Jesus rising from the dead.
There honestly isn't any Christian holidays that still retain its true meaning. Next year if you want to be cheap then go hardcore Christian. You'll get out of going broke from buying Christmas and Valentine's day gifts.
You know that Santa is Jesus in disguise. over 2000 year, he has grow very old and he dont like to shave. And he like christmas log and turkey too much which explain the belly.
On a more serious way, egg and resurection both mean birth in a way thats why we give egg at easter. And there are some other thing relatted to the bible about giving egg too, still ill keep that for another day...
