There was an awesome archer bot on ymir in spores the other day. It clearly had run out of arrows and it would just run up to mobs... stand there. Stand there... stand there. I'd kill it it'd go to a new mob. If you dropped loot on the ground it would go straight for it lol. It was cute~

There are always bots on this server. Yes they paid. But I would say the are not on maps that are farmed. You bump into an odd one on goats map in pre-renewal and some in the comodo caves when you do the Jolly Rogers turn ins. My point is, they are there, but you hardly notice them and they rarely hinder your game play.

I only bother reporting the ones that are in the way of me doing my thing. I havn't reported a bot... ever? There are just so few on ymir.

Bots are pretty common in Ymir.

Saw my first bot in Umbala field, farming those exp items from Dryads.
Saw a ton farming Goats.
I saw a bot farming Goats even after Antelope Horns became useless. Blue Herbs gotta come from somewhere I guess.
And some just farm for exp in Siromas and Pizzarings.

And all of the above were either "teleport on sight" or "walk around and KS" bots so I'm not mistaken.

How effective is the forced Training Grounds? Seems like it would be a nice hindrance.

I've seen 2-3 bots in anolians hunting carga mace. I reported one, still trying to get the name of the other ones.

Being on Valk, I saw approximately 50+ novice bots walking around doing their thing inside the Training Grounds at the first area. Not really a hindrance. They have no sense of time, therefore it doesn't hinder them at all even if it's a few more steps they have to take to get out of there. I'm sure once F2P comes along, you'll see many more on Ymir/Ygg doing this.

Back in the day a few friends and I would run around on bot maps and poly some pretty nasty bio3 monsters. Killing bots became a weekly party thing

You don't have to pretend to be tough, bucko. Some of us Ymir folks actually played back in the day when there was no valk and all those bots you boast about living with, they were flooding Chaos and Loki.

I'm not even sure I want to know why you are boasting that in the first place.

Yea, and you pissed of the few legit new players iRO gets.
Would it work if the npc that let you into the second map of the training grounds had a series random easy to answer questions that it would ask before allowing you in? Making the question set random would make it harder to automate the bots.
