Just curious how many players are getting a hold of KVM badges in this lucky box event and are they trade-able?

They are not tradable and you can't put them in a cart either.

Why not just make them tradeable? Is it just to make ppl have to buy wp energy personally?

I wish they were tradable. jRO Battlegrounds points are actually tradable, though they do have modified BG rewards too. Its just a shame because I've known people who got KvM Badges as a box reward and don't want them and I need them. Would be a win-win situation but...

I got 800 from 6 boxes, and I don't like any of the gear. Please make them available to sell.

Yeah surely win-win... I'm pretty certain I'd spend most if not all of my zeny on buying them from other players after having run KVM for months. I got 0 KVM badges from much more lucky boxes. Argh fest.

Why are KVM badges no longer allowed to be traded?

They were never meant to be tradeable in the first place. The badges you happen to see vending from time to time are leftover badges from a while ago during a time when certain Account-Bound stuff wasn't Account-Bound. Therefore, people placed the Badges into their carts to sell. Eventually that stuff went Account-Bound once again.

I imagine it's so that people who want KVM badges will be forced to buy lucky boxes while others are stuck with KVM badges they don't need/want. In the end it's really all about money.
