I'm only a little sad that people in FOC use respawn while I'm a few steps away from their corpse.

lol i always thought that i better not waste rads time in foc and rez myself so rad can keep healing others, but if you really want ill ask for help, but that usually gets rads killed, since not many people just die at the back

It is the worst thing ever in a raid to have people either coming unprepared or moaning all the time like spoiled brats that dont get everyone's attention. I will understand that NOT everyone can buy mall items or even afford to acquire in game in some way. I will accept this. But WHY the HELL, all the GREED? You join a RAID, which is the hardest thing you can do in this game, obviously expecting a superb drop, an item you can possibly win for yourself. Yet all this isnt enough, it should also be 0% risk. If you go unprepared and die:

1) Go back to resurrect point yourself and rejoin asap. YES damn it, you will lose exp! There is a price to pay in all great things.

2) Do not expect other people to nanny you and risk the whole party and the outcome of the difficult task.

The radiants' job is to HEAL, primarily. At least in a raid. Keep the TANK alive, so the TANK keeps the bloody party alive. Then also heal the rest of the party from aoes and stuff like that. Resurrection in raids is always risky. A radiant can do it, but the risk is too much in my humble opinion. Because, the radiant will probably have to go in a danger zone. And because this little time (little?) MIGHT be enough for the tank to die.

Some say, what a lousy tank that dies in a few secs. Are you STUPID? Raid bosses LOVE to do combos, and when this happens ANY tank can go down VERY quickly. You havent noticed ever that Biskra can do weakening AND other stuff AND cri too? So, good luck with the tank without getting healed. Just an example.

I have been tanking raids for a long time indeed. They go pretty cool UNLESS for these reasons:

1) The radiant(s) have to spend time on unnecessary tasks, like the said resurrection of the fallen ones.

2) There is only ONE radiant, whose abilities are not really enough for the whole party and gets overwhelmed at some point.

3) Certain members of the party behaving stupid, either dont listen or acting like the spoiled brats mentioned earlier. What is more, I have seen many times such people QUITTING the task because they didnt get the attention they were crying for. So, what starts like a 15 people party could get down to a 8 one, or less. And then you have Biskra at like 15-20%. And everyone else starts thinking, screw this lets quit. How many raids have failed because of all this? For no reason really.

To end this, I LOVE my radiants in a raid, they do a very hard and important job. I dont want them to die lots and feel bad. I want the IDIOTS to die lots and NEVER bloody join a raid AGAIN. Thanks! :p_devil:

Well, stupidity is the same, be it a game or "real life". And it is truly infinite, like wise Einstein once said. :p_devil:

If radiants can't res during raids they should just give the skill to tempests or commanders...

/sarcasm

Depending on how many radiants / how good the radiant(s) is/are depends if they should res or not.

It is not always a risk for the rad to run over and res someone. It is not being nannied it is simply being kind.

Trust me, I'm a very kind Radiant, and I do all I can to take care of my party members, but no matter how 'skilled' you think you are as a radiant, raids are unpredictable. Sure, you can try to learn every boss's attack cycle, but with the added lag and the fact that the location of bodies don't always mean that that is where you should stand to res makes ressing anyone in a raid idiotic. It takes 30 seconds to return into the arena at RH by ressing outside, and a meager minute to res outside at Biskra. People need to stop their bitching and take the small exp chop if they really want the chance to roll on gear. It's better for the radiant to be safe, and a smart radiant would understand that the importance of their role out ranks the importance of everyone except the Tank. Plus, the boss's AI is an adaptive type, meaning that the attack cycle isn't always the same. You may run up to res your Warlord when Biskra does his AOE stun and DS combo. Bam, you're dead due to your idiocy, and now the whole raid party is gonna get ran over because the tank lost aggro.

Rule #1 for Radiants, use Salvation in dungeons, SVS, and in the large world, NOT in a raid.

i can understand if u are in a solo heal situation expecting the ppl u come with to have there own form of resurrection. solo healing is takin a risk in itself. saying that u goin over to rez someone because they dont have mall pnts makes them an idiot is just selfish and u should be a radiant if u gonna be selfish. so just tell the ppl u party with before hand "no res"...its that simple. not tellin ppl what the two most important members of the party can or cant do before the raid is stupid imo. talk abt it and hug each other before u go, if u have to, but simple communication before will tell everyone where they need to go and do. its alot easier than alot of ppl are makin it out to be. dont make it harder than it need to be lol.

learn ur limits and communicate it to the party.

For those who think its 'being selfish' to stop healing the Tank and res a fallen pt member... have u ever played a Radiant? and if so how many raids have u done? I mean like Biskra, DC, RH, LW etc... not SL and RoL we are talkin about here.

I see it as much more selfish to let the Tank die and whole party be wiped for helping one person who died, than it is to come over and res you. Yep, if you die under my care in a raid I'll cringe and feel bad it happened. However you must know that once you enter a lair, there is a risk that you may die... Dont be afraid to pot if the(8 target, with 15 ppl there) party heal misses you. Chances are that the healer is very well aware that you need a heal and it could take a few secs to get to you. 1 more tip.. be within heal range, this helps a bunch =)

I agree with that. When im on a raid with my ranger (he doesent have aeds) i allways respawn outside, i dont even ask if theres time to ress me. Lets face, most rads only spend 1 point in that skill (including me)and 10% less exp loss wont help much anyways..

On the other side.... hokawo is completly right, i cant believe how many times i had to ask ppl to come to healing range. So now i decided to ask once, you dont come, well, enjoy your pots cos i wont risk a whole pt to go heal 1 person that wants to stay far.

A raid without deaths is not only a tank and rad job. Everyone in the pt has to know where to stand and how to move, otherwise expect some deaths. Even whith the best radiants arround (i wish i was one of them... )Team work is really important for that.

Best of luck, Dess

Edit: Btw, pt heal actually works a bit weird, somes times i target 1 person, cast pt heal and i heal everyone arround him, but NOT my targuet. So yeah, heals can miss you more than you think....And whats not to love when you cast a pt heal on the tank on RH and miss all meles?? that really helps to make it easy....

Actually it does more strange things than that... it can hit people more than 20m from you if you cast on yourself (not much more but this is noticable if they're out of single heal range and for whatever reason you can't/won't move fowards lol) and no, i'm not talking about piggyback party heals here for the people who'll inevitabley think that's what i mean.

On topic tho, sure you can ask for res and before the bosses were changed i'd usually agree to res - on my terms, not here and now...and 100% you would always get a right royal reaming from all the rest of the party. Now tho, there is no time at all if solohealing rh what with the 8k earthshocks (since by the time tank is back to full hp i run the risk of being stunned myself if i run in to res - unless you're superlucky and the post earthshock crits run consecutively 5.3 and 4.7, then and only then i might give it a try XD ) and biskra... well mabe i can find the time if the party happens to move near you but otherwise no. lol.
