I have a merchant I stick at sunken ship isle to get fire arrows and stick them in storage for my other characters/friends. Never saw this until today though.

Sunken Ship is a common place people do Blood Branches at. Seems like someone got something they couldn't kill.

Ah, oddly, I had my storage open and was able to keep moving things in and out of it while dead.
