Forum posters VS game players

Seriously, I've seen many of the forum regulars claim to spend very little time in game.
Almost every single person I talk to in game never sees forums, or is even aware of events going on.
GMs, please make this distinction clear in your own mind, so as not to get confused.
This isn't across the board but prevalent enough to take note of

One of the things we're trying to do is get people on the facebooks to see the good stuff being discussed on the forums, and to encourage players to get on the forums in larger numbers.Yea, of course you forum guys play. But I'm saying you all are a small number in the community. And I only added how some people only really check forums just as an extra piece of info to reveal the situation.

I don't know.. a lot of people only clicks like to get news (patcher updates) in their feed, and socialise with their friends.
Most would prefer some kind of ingame solution. A newsboard npc would work good.
And as sera said, you should encourage forum players to be game players. Word of mouth is one of the best ways, but not everone has a friend that constantly checks the forum.

Cool and I encourage the effort. I just want you all to bear in mind that the general opinion on the forums is nowhere near balanced with the general opinion of players altogether. One of the things we're trying to do is get people on the facebooks to see the good stuff being discussed on the forums, and to encourage players to get on the forums in larger numbers.
Also, what sera and atlas said.

1) I'm on the Goddamn Airship, which can sometimes take over half an hour, if you are trying to go from Juno to Hugel, why you ask? Because the route is something like this Hugel > Juno > Einbroch > Juno > Lighthalzen > Einbroch > Juno > Lighthalzen > Hugel, now that takes like 10min if you get on just after it has left in Hugel, but imagine that during this time, theres a Monster attack! Then you can expect to be there for a long, long time.
2) I am leveling my Homunculus or using a merc to level.
3) Maintenance.

One of the things we're trying to do ...blah blah... encourage players to get on the forums in larger numbers.
oh Oda, you simply give away too much info. it seems clear now the game is being neglected in a horrendously ill-thought out plot to force people out of game and into the forums. i'm sure it's not your fault and all heim's idea so i wont blame you for it.
truth be told, i probably do spend more time in the forums than in game now, i very much hate forums in general so this is a real problem for me. i find i enjoy this game less and less as time goes on, it simply does not play as it used to. as one with a full time job and a life i can honestly say this game no longer yields itself to casual play, the amount of time it takes to get ahead in this game makes it so that only those without jobs or lives can get ahead or gain access to any of the "new expanded content" brought with renewal. for ten years now this game has felt largely incomplete and it's likely going to be discontinued before long. RO2 has been in development for almost as long and will likely meet the same fate.
what keeps me out of game and on the forums? lack of swift action. it's long puzzled me what the hold up is, getting new content to this game i mean. we're over a year behind kRO, this is unexcusable. many may not see what difference this makes but in the software industry this is a simply retarded business strategy. how well do you think console games do when they're released for a console that's been discontinued for over a year? this business is cutthroat and if you cant keep up with thee competition you're left in the dust. theres simply no excuse for iRO to be any more beind kRO than 1 week. 10% unemployment in the USA i'm sure somebody would be willing to do korean->english translation for minimum wage. theres just so much unfulfilled potential here and it's 100% bad management. seriously if i were in california i'd be beating down the doors at gravity US HQ volunteering, free of charge, to fix all the stupid i come across in this game. heim says he only knows of about 10 unfixed things, check the item and skill descriptions against the database and scripts, theres atleast 100 things there that need fixing. hell, theres even instructions on google on how to fix these client issues, no coding experience required. you want to know why so many people dont use the forums? because they're smarter than the rest of us and know that pointing out the problems and the solutions to them is a horrendous waste of time and effort. i just dont know any other way to say this. no more than 15 minutes after the mistress crash was duplicated should there have been a patch for it. i guess if i didnt have so much to complain about i'd be spending more time in-game and less in-forum, which honestly is a lot better for the company since when do play, i'm buying WP and not on the forum pointing out every little failure on gravity's part. i'm not saying this just to Oda here but to all gravity staff, want a more stable revenue stream and ensure your future employment? how about start fixing the things that we all know you can fix and in a timely manner. dont have access to the company tools for editing stuff? DO A GOOGLE SEARCH. seriously, i you not there are CHILDREN doing your exact same job out there far more successfully than you, playing it by ear without the aid of documentation with publicly available programs.

Lol how about no. you said nowhere near the same things, you tried to act like I was saying forum players don't play at all.
Sorry I don't know how to quote you when it doesn't do it automatically.
@Hacks BIG TIME
Hacks, what the hell are you talking about? The GMs are breaking their asses to improve the game. Why would they want to drive players out of game and into forums? And there's nothing wrong with them "giving info", makes me feel like they're on our side.
Back in beta is when I felt like a player couldn't play for just a few minutes, that a player had to commit. Now I feel otherwise. Where do you get your reasoning?
It has been recognized that the delays in updates is a problem (See future plans post). They are trying to do something about that now.
You talk so much about taking care of things in a timely manner but your entire post seems late.

I kinda agree with the op, many many forum posters hardly play, if at all
Starting with the GMs.

Their seems to be a clear distinction between those who play and those who post forums.
isnt that your 1st post and the thesis of this thread? thought so. by that logic, you must be a game player and not a forum dweller since you dont know how to quote someone. QED@Black Potato

Did you realise I was responding to your post where you edited what I said to include your name and several others?isnt that your 1st post and the thesis of this thread? thought so. by that logic, you must be a game player and not a forum dweller since you dont know how to quote someone. QED
If A says 1, and B says 2, and I'm only picking one option, I can't say "What A and B said."
What you said in your post was opposing what the others said, to include yourself was....I dunno.
I dun get you.

Sadly true. This entire message was kinda to the GMs, but I didn't want to insult them. They don't seem to know how the general playing population feels at all.Starting with the GMs.
