Does anyone know the exact reason that sticky liquids cannot be traded?

Well as it is just a normal mat, it should be. Might be good to send in a Ticket for the next patch

FYI
There are two different versions of "Sticky Liquid"

The normal monster drop can be traded.

The other one appears to be a an event drop like "Lacrima" or "Snow crystals". This one is restricted just like all other event drops.
After checking quests I cannot find a single one that actually gives you this item right now so I'm left wondering how the heck you managed to get it
They may have deleted the QSD data since the event I suppose.

First time I got one I thought it was a chemical and tried to sell it (ccoz it looks like Low Enth )

Then I discovered it's untradable/vendable. I can't even drop it

should be able to sell it to NPC still. Just like you can with Lacrima, trash or snow crystals.
Probly have a zero value though

I submitted a ticket about these sticky liquids weeks ago, it was passed on to the Dev team but I guess it's not important enough
to fix in a hurry. They drop in the lake in ruins and are very annoying when you're invent is full and you can't drop them to
make room.
