WHERES THE RED SWORD!?
The database lists naught seiger's base drop rates as 90%.
With vip, and HE gum running,it'll probably roll up to something close to 99%.
THING IS, WHEN WE STILL HAD PREMIUM SUBSCRIBER MODEL, THEY WERE ALL 100%.
i don't like this vip system. i rather have my 100% instead of a 1% chance of not getting a rare piece of loot.

The premium servers had a customized droprate which is why you might be confused.

And now with VIP, they start to not always drop.
My post just expresses the surprise about this change.
There's no denying that it got nerfed, or "changed" though.
And what's with the violating my thread undertitle heim??

I assure you extensive testing with super high % items still didn't yield 100% when done with a large enough sample size. I am very happy that your group has the organization and power to run ET to the top repeatedly, I also regret that you didn't get the sword to drop this time. Ymir isn't a Premium server now, VIP gives a very good approximation of the old premium benefits + giving more access and buff NPCs than before for a cheaper price as well, but the way the drops worked before is not identical to how they are now.
Can I give you that hug now?

A mandragora on Ymir/premium would _always_ drop a stem, a poring would _always_ drop a jellopy, Naught Siggy would always drop both swords, and that skeleton below him would always drop everything. That's because previously, the base drop rate on premiums was increased.
Now, with the VIP system, the VIP drop bonus appears to be implemented as a gum effect - with a 90% drop rate cap.
AFAIK heim's 10,000 monster drop test hasn't been done yet, since it sounds like they've been short-handed at gravity. When that's done and posted it will lay bare the new drop mechanism, and we can all stop arguing about how drops work, and start arguing about whether changes should be made, and if so, how.
A comparison between a server with 1.5x drop rate, and a VIP player (+50% drops) on a server with 1x drop rate will show a huge difference - you don't need 10,000 monsters to see the difference either. 500 monsters (about what you can kill and loot in a single shot without getting DC'ed when you greed the loot) would make the difference very obvious.
I'm not sure there's a good fix for this, though. In the case of the ET MVPs, the drop rate could simply be set to 100% instead of 90%, but because of the drop level penalty, i'm not sure that it wouldn't get adjusted to less than 100%, and then all the VIP's and Gum's in the world couldn't get it back above 90, because they'd be capping. Depends on how that math is handled internally.
Personally, pre-renewal, it was good that the items in ET on premium server had 100% drop rates, seeing as ET was pretty damned hard, and took a full dozen people nearly 4 hours. In renewal, where you can rambo it with half a party and half a bottle of vodka (ie, nobody playing at their prime) and be done before the 3 hour mark, i don't see a problem in there being a chance of not getting everything.
