To get a KVM weapon, you require 2k KVM pts for each one. They're lvl 4 weapons that force most people to use enrich oris on them. Even then, getting it to the safe limit on Valk means nothing compared to a +7 Flavius/Tierra weapon that's easily upgraded in a shorter timespan than it would take to get even one KVM weapon. The KVM weapons's special properties kick in when they are at least +6. How many people do you know on Valk/Ymir have at least +6? Do you know many people who are willing to risk the 2k pts they just worked hard for to actually break a weapon just to get to +5 or +6 for the matter? I know the safe limit for Ymir is +4, but even with the increased rates with enriched beyond that are high-risk scenarios. You have a 10% chance of breaking the weapon with enriched on Ymir going from +4 to +5. It's a 40% chance to break it for the next +. Likely, everyone's going to +4 their first KVM weapon so that they'd have a spare in case they break it. How long do you think it'll take them to get another 2k KVM pts for another weapon to upgrade? The situation is even worse on Valk, but I digress. Ymir should get better odds with using Enriched. Still doesn't change the fact that getting a KVM weapon would take forever on Valk as it is with Ymir. I bet I can count the number of +6 and above KVM weapons on both my hands from both servers.
My suggestion? Either lower the cost of the KVM weapon requirement, or take into consideration the suggestions made from other users on how to handle "fixing" KVM so that we can finally see fights in there again. People always tell me "If you want to fight, go to pvp!" I'll tell them that it's a different story when there's certain WoE mechanics involved, where you can't simply slap on links+EDP+SB to 1-shot people out of the blue like you do in pvp. If you're not careful, even non-trans can kill you if you're not smart enough to click more than one button to kill someone. I've seen some of the most "creative" fights in KVM than I'll ever see in the pvp rooms. I'd love to see those fights again. And it goes without saying that a lot of players have been deterred from fighting in KVM, because it's not worth the time to fight in there for the rewards it gives. The only people you'll ever see in KVM these days are people who drop alts into the bottom room so they can farm from the top. When the only person that really wants to fight ends up in the bottom room, they're suddenly flooded with alts and no chance to solo kill 5 people. And when they go to fight, the people from the farmers side will flame on the person that wanted to fight just for one match or two. Technically, I can't blame the flamers. If you fight, getting the rewards would take just that much longer. Imagine the 5 minutes between matches and 5 minute fights. That's 10 minutes total to get 1pt or 5pts. Or 1 pt for both sides if they end up as a tie. Assuming someone wins all their matches in those 5 minute matches with the 4 minute cooldown and 1 minute "buff your people" time between matches, it'll be a maximum of 30 pts per hour. You would have to play KVM for 67+ hours to even get one weapon. And that's in the best-case scenario when people are willing to fight it out.
Also, if you can somehow make KVM weapons a little more easily available, imagine the KP people will buy to upgrade them? More money in your pockets. More satisfied people. More fights to see. No more lazy butt people with awesome gears. As to where that KVM suggestion thread was...uhh...I can't find that thread. /swt I also hope others will post suggestions on what to do. This OP is just meant to make you think about the suffering some people have to endure with KVM at the moment. xD
