Hi, I quested for the Backsliding skill on my thief and was hoping that I could use it to easily move my character to a certain straight direction as opposed to walking) but apparently, it's failing to give me that result because when I use the Backslide skill, it lags and would move after a second or so.. thus defeating the purpose of it giving the character a backward boost (somehow). So I always ended up walking instead. Can anyone give me any tips on this? Is it because the game itself is lagging? Or is the server the one lagging?

There's a delay enforced between uses of it, i belive (based on your aspd).

It shouldn't matter if you're lagging - it should still be usable just as fast. I'd think you'd know it if you were lagging in general - there's nothing special about backslide w/regards to lag in normal conditions.
If you're on a crowded map, particularly on a slow computer, and you backslide into a mob of people, you can get a bit of lag from that, as RO loads the sprites for the characters that just appeared on the screen.

Note that moving normally while backsliding (or otherwise being knocked around) will likely leave you pos-bugged (where your char appears to be in the wrong place on your screen).
