If you're 99/70 trans, and you're non-VIP, you don't have much choice, do you?

If you're 99/50 non-trans, it's time to trans, which doesn't require a stone.
Changing to third job from non-trans deprives your char of critical skills, and will leave you with a useless char that can't perform it's class role in parties or WoE and probably won't be able to level well either.

Unless you are a bard or dancer, which are useless even with trans, and transcending for they is just "getting moar 20 job points~~~~~~" Actually, I made it because I love Marionette Control~

And if you should buy a reset stone: Yes, you don't have so much choice. Start farming your zeny in Harpies and go for it. In Valk, you can see stones selling for 3-4 million zeny now, so you are in lucky... Some months ago, the stones were 12m each.
