Remember when "animal leg bone" was dropped only by mobs that could be considered an "animal" and actually have "legs"?? First time I noticed them dropping from plants (flanae; smoulies; nepenthes) I had a serious WTF moment.


Haha, exactly! The drop table now is like making krawfy tails drop from moldies! Some of the drops in the current table are okay but there's too many of these ridiculous map drops. I think map drops are just awful unless they have an actual theme to them. Like making woods a map drop in a forest type map like Forest of Wisdom or Forest of Wandering. And doing things like this -

Animal Leg Bones and Backbones - as pep said only from animal type mobs
Thin Insect shell - drop from things like Choropies and Bees
Thick Insect shell - drop from Beetles and other hard shelled type mobs
Insect wings - drop from Hornets and Bees and other flying insect type mobs
Pumpkin pieces - drop from Pumpkins, Big Pumpkins, etc
Coal - drop from Moldies and Coal Mine moldies.
Twig - drop from Little Smouly
Bark - drop from Smouly, Elder Smouly, etc
Thin and Thick Leaf - drop from plant type mobs
Pollen - drop from Bees and Flanaes
Frozen Animal Fur - drop from Wolves
Ore of Water - drop from places where water type mobs inhabit i.e. Aquas
Ore of Fire - drop from fire type mobs i.e. Fiery Snappers

note: some of these may already drop like this but just giving examples.

And they wouldn't only have to drop from these types of mobs. They could just be a higher/better chance.

Also they should scale map drops better instead of just having mats drop all over the place. We have several places that lv200+ could level or farm yet I'm willing to bet the useful drops don't differ too much from map to map.

One last edit - doesn't make sense for a mob to have different drop tables just because it's in a different map. How confusing must that be for some players? And the only reason I can think of why it is that way is because of laziness aka let's just make a general category and call it map drops so we don't have to assign each individual mob a drop list.

Just my opinion.

YES! That's more like it! It's just logical--you don't have to speak English to figure out what drops from which mobs when they make perfect sense, so it would help everyone in the long run, leading to an overall effect of more HAPPY people in game, which in turn is one small but significant step towards world peace -_-. Dude, I love it! :waddle:

I'm not aware of it being changed any time in the recent past, but if I'm wrong, I hope someone will correct me and elaborate.

What? Where did I say they should go back to the old drop table? I said they should "go back to one that makes sense." Example - Oh I need paper wing pieces for Eudy wings, I bet they drop from Eudys! Or I want to craft some worm dragon wings, better hunt worm dragons for dragon scales. Etc.

Previous drop tables had parts that made sense but I wasn't saying go back to any of those. I was saying they should make a new one that makes sense... It isn't meant to be taken literally and most people know that.

These types of monsters drop an obscene amount of blues. The problem is not only the drop rate of them but how useless these items have become. For example if all sets had their set bonuses added it could make more types of gear desirable, but until then, these items are obsolete (Grand/Golden/Elven are inferior to reinforced and endowed which have also become inferior to union gear.) This is especially true at higher levels when everyone aims for union gear. Regardless, the rate at which they drop should toned down.

Also, for a monster that drops blues, they drop every single type possible for that class (ie if I am fighting a soldier type captain, it drops legendary, golden, elven, grand, saint, demon, dark soldier armor.) Too many types from one monster.

Their drop rate for medium tier catalysts is fair not too much not to little, this is fine.

One thing that should be looked into is that their is a lack of captain or sub boss type monsters in many places. For example Prison does not have any (Room 4 is the most challenging at it would only make sense to place a greater reward there). There are very few captain type monsters in orlo as well.

These guys also suffer the blue explosion. But unlike the leader captain and sub boss monsters, boss monsters are much less abundant and much more difficult to take on. Getting an onslaught of elven gears is a slap in the face when you farm bosses, especially those that need to be triggered by fighting other monsters in the area.

Their drop rate for high tier lisents is... very low, which is why you see a huge gap in price between HG (buying price ~560k) and Na (buying price ~4.65m) (I couldn't even find an accurate selling price because there wasn't a single Na for sale in Junon) Moderate/high level Catalysts (Lisent Fg - Lisent Hg) can be farmed at a respectful rate, where as High level catalysts are almost non existent in the market due to the rarity of them. Granted they should be rare, but currently it is a bit excessive.

The majority of these high level lisents that have not been consumed were leftover from the catalyst explosion in Orlo back in January.

If high level lisents weren't rare, then Epic weapons are on a whole different level. And granted, they should be rare, but a special person once told me 'you can't give people free candies and then take them away'. Meaning, when the epics were first introduced, the drop rate was fair (there was an abundance in game due to the sheer amount of people farming them, using double drop medals etc.)

Now, I don't know, you could farm for a month with medals and still not get an epic (look at iBlu's scenario). These items should definitely be rare, but I don;t now I might have a better shot winning the lottery now. Not to mention some of these epics are still lackluster, look at how useless the wand is, the crossbow is mediocre, 1 handed blunt is unimpressive too.

Other items

Aside from the aforementioned, there are many items which don't even drop anymore! Cart schematics, jewlery such as the full moon ring, shadow necklace and deathblow, and others I can't even remember. The drop rate of certain crafting materials is awkward too. For example, Bird feathers which are used to craft 1 lower level item (Crow Wings) are a map drop in nearly every (if not every) map in the game. On the other hand, Paper wing Pieces are used to craft 2 high level items (Hook Wing, Eudy wing) and they only drop from 3 enemies: Hooks, Krawfy Swordsman (Junon CF) and Orpe Lukete. Eudies don't even drop them anymore yet they are used to craft their own wings!!!

Certain other crafting materials such as wolf steel, do not drop anymore either.

Gems are also a bit odd. Now they only drop from ghosts, but every ghost drops every type of grade 2 gem. Why not just make them drop gem boxes instead? Rather than having 20 types of grade 2 gems cluttering up your inventory. (Ghosts do not spawn at level 220 either)

There is probably more that I am missing, but that is the general gist of the problems.



Long story short:

Implement the remaining set bonuses to all sets to make more pieces useful.
Reduce the rate of blue items dropped from Leader-Boss types.
Increase the rate of epic weapons/epic lisents from bosses slightly. Bosses that are trigger based should have a higher rate to drop compared to timer based bosses.
Make all crafting materials and forgotten jewelry actually drop now. (Maybe add a couple new high level jewelery pieces which can be a rare drop from bosses)
Reduce the drop area range of materials that are only useful for a select few items (for example bird feathers and nymph essence do not need to drop in every map. Destruction drills drop in ridiculous amounts in certain places such as Junon Clan Field as well)
Make simple jewelry a material, so it can stack rather than having it clog up the gear inventory. (it's pointless to wear simple jewelry by itself as it doesn't have any stats anyway)

I'm sure other people can input some more feedback.

this means the devs are gunna :waddle: up sumwhere trying to do this and epics will be droppping like nuts just wait and see..

@Calanor I wasn't using any medals, the only thing was the x2 drop event on atm. I was also wearing a Lucky spin costume which increased my chance by 16%. I tried without wearing the costume and there wasn't much difference. Still a hell of a lot of blues even if you half them.

Ha this is stupid. I never really took an interest in farming until now and I spent 3 hours today doing it and all I got was some blues and hardly any crafting materials, IE Chems and other crafting mats for my sen arti :D I know its not suppose to be easy but no wonder the prices are ridiculous atm :D

I honestly think its gotten WORSE....a few weeks ago i could still get a decent amount of Hgs to sell after a few hours of farming in muris...now NADA...

That place on Sathanas' screenshot is indeed crazy with blue drops.. the spiders and stuff don't do that.

For places where the arachnids are;
Also the candle ghosts in ruins drop an insane amount of gem [2]s. I got over 1000 in only 3 hours farming.

But if the gem[2]s will be lowered by at least 50%, the drops of catalysts should imo be made a bit higher.

They also drop way too many destruction drills (who ever uses those things anyway?) and M-drills as well.

Couldn't resist on commenting.

The drops indeed blow. I have been hunting giant fiery snappers and prehistoric mastyx king for one month and all i got for my effort were 11 Lisent Us and 3 hermes. It's not the same hunting these bosses to bosses like scavs pack leader since they are spawned by killing a lot of monsters in a certain area. It would take an average of 20-30 minutes for the giant fiery snapper to spawn while it would take around 10 minutes for the prehistoric mastyx king. I didn't even bother with Kera due to the insane amount of mobs that make it a lot harder to solo.

Anyway, one whole month, hunting for 20+ hrs straight at times and all that would drop are blues as this thread suggests. Phish has also noted most of the problems with the drops we're getting. We'd be getting things that are out of place or that are just not needed like destruction drills.

1 month of hunting for my staff from these bosses as what I gathered from our compendium and I got nothing. Even with 2x drop event, transformers costume, and medal of retrieval, I just kept getting more of these junk drops. What do I hear next? In the trade chat, some guy said that he luckily got an epic staff from scavs. Wow, it just turned my world upside down, and I felt I just wasted 1 whole month soloing these bosses while I could have just partied with friends in scavs. It would have been a lot more fun and a lot less time wasted in gathering mats while waiting for my epic. I felt happy for the guy who got it but I got frustrated with my situation. He said it was his first time farming and he already got it while I was toiling there for 1 month and nada. I don't blame him, it's just that the drop is so screwed up that these things happen.

Later on that day a friend pmed me telling me some guy was selling shattered hope in Junon. The rest is history. The guy scammed me of all I had and I got none of it back even though I emailed the GMs/support with proof. The scamming was brought about by the trade window before being limited only to 1b but that's another issue and thankfully that has been addressed to prevent more scenarios such as mine.

That aside. I've already given up on this game and quit after being scammed and notified that I won't get any kind of compensation whatsoever. In my opinion, it's just pure greed and this game is turning into a casino. You see lucky spins, more IM stuff to "add" more chances for "decent(not even rare)" drops, and screwed drop rates. Why? So you guys will keep playing longer or if you get frustrated you resort to IM stuff to improve your chances. Well I'm done with this so what do I care. Just wishing all of you guys who are still playing better luck.

I don't know if it makes you feel any better or worse. But people make up stories all the time, and the guy who got an epic staff from scavengers is one them since it doesn't even drop there.

I dunno... that's what I thought too... but it doesn't seem like the guy was lying. He was also getting a lot of offers from people who were there.

I dunno... that's what I thought too... but it doesn't seem like the guy wasn't lying. He was also getting a lot of offers from people who were there.


Maybe he was just saying he got it there so no one would go steal his spot where he actually got it from :D

Maybe, or maybe he got it from devourer and thought that it was from scavs, or maybe he really got it from scavs. We don't know. But the point is the drop tables are very messed up. It's like winning the lottery if you get the wand or staff these days. I tried hunting it and because of my frustration I ended up just wanting to buy it and got scammed in the end. Great. 5 months worth of work for nothing. Hope something changes for you guys though.

Trying to put together a drop table of an example of what it should be like. Taking awhile though, I never knew there were so many Material items, since all I see atm is the same random crap, i'm seeing materials I haven't seen in a very long time. :D

Well I finally got on my lazy ass and thought I would Level/ Farm my knight to LvL220... I found a nice little spot in Sikuku ruins and Lured a few mobs and this is what I got.

*Scratches head* I'm not one for making complaint threads but I want to farm materials, refines, not Gear!


the WORST part is that none of those are really good except for special builds like crafters etc.

This is Something I would like to see the Mobs in adventurer Plains drop.

There isn't More then 30 different Materials to collect from all the Mobs together within the map which means you wouldn't have to worry about what Material you want to drop on the ground then finding out as a new starter that it was worth a bit of zulie.

There really Basic Materials with what you should start out with, weather your going to NPC or use for crafting its useful in some sort of way. Also with Low Essence and Essence Dropping the noobs can make money by selling them.

Obviously I've only mentioned Materials/ Consumables since I cba sitting through all the different types of armour. Half of it I wonder why its in the game its that useless.

I think one of the biggest problems I find is the HP+MP consumable Drops. They drop so much its unreal sometimes. I don't even see the point in them. Yeah maybe if your fighting a boss and they gradually drop to support you but other then that they shouldn't be dropping from regular mobs.

Another problem is the Drills and De-Gem Drills. Oh my word why do they drop so much as well. I have so many in storage now its unreal. They are that worthless these days you might as well have everything drop with a socket already in the item :D I wonder if anyone buys the perfect drill from item mall.. If they do I would love to know what they were thinking.

Like Everyone is saying here the drops just don't make sense at all. Little Devil Feathers & Angel Feathers dropping from things that you wouldn't think possible. I see that your trying to have the items drop more so you don't have to hunt the same monster just to obtain something like the the little angel feathers but come on why would I get that from the mobs on orlo. None of them have feathers!
