I've made my warp portal account and my ragnarok account but I still can't find out how much it cost to play?
I remember some of my friends used to play it years ago but they can't remember how much it cost as the parents paid for it.
I'm sorry if it's right under my nose, any help or a point in the right direction would be great.

You can play for free, that is, if you choose play the Valkyrie server
PROs : High population, great community, real heated WOE that is actually fun and challenging

CONS : Huge number of bots, walking through town is hard with all the spam bots, high inflation rate


Or the yggdrasil server which is also free

PROs : cheap items everywhere, new server and everybody starts from scratch (almost)

CONs : Also have a number of bots, spam bots (?), woe is crap with the low population, LOW POPULATION

Not really.
It's more a "once pay, play free forever afterwards".
On Valk and Ygg you can create chars up to 3 slots. If you wanna use the other 6, you have to pay for ViP to create the chars.
On Ymir you have to pay for ViP to create a single char.
BUT
Once created chars are always playable, no matter if you have a ViP account at the moment or not.

There are several boni for ViP users, like free buffs, warping services, free entrance to the overlook water dungeon (which is the fastest way from lv 30 to 70+ in my opinion) and of course more exp, more drop and less exp-loose on death. This counts, of course, for all servers.

Ymir as server has the pro of a big, nice community (as far as I experienced till now) and nearly no bots at all.
The con of course is that you have to pay once to create a character.

If you are paying anyway do ymir. Seriously. There are almost no bots.
