Hi, I have a question about spears.

Which one-handed spear is better for Knights?

1) Gungnir[2]
2) Pike[4]

Also, I've heard that Gungnir is Wind Element? Is that true? I haven't read on any other forum whether that applies in iRO but apparently it does in other servers.

Try to use anything but a pike.
Four slotted lv1 weapons are no longer good for damage.

Although I know this severely limits the spears you can use as a knight.

Yes Gungir [2] is a Wind Element weapon.

Now one thing to keep in mind though is that you will only get the 2 slotted one by slotting the normal one which is a kind of hard and expensive to get. Gungnir without slots is 1m, with slots it's 20m.

Now if you have the zenny then YES it's lots better than the Pike as it has 120 Atk compared to Pikes 60 Atk. It also has a hit bonus of +30 (the equivalent of having 30 more dexterity).

I am not sure if the "Perfect Hit" bonus is a critical hit bonus or not though. Really not sure what it would be otherwise though so this weapon is even better with +25 Perfect Hit as well.


Now if you really don't need that Shield a better spear would be a 2 handed Crescent Scythe. It gives 180 Atk, +10 Hit, and +30 Critical also it is neutral element wise. Non slot version of this goes for just under 1m normally. 1 Slot version goes for about 9m. So really think if you need that shield or not.

Yeah it's wind element. The perfect hit is not crit damage. It's never miss seeking damage.

Or alternatively elemental lances, which have 185 attack.
With bowling bash, brandish spear and pierce you'll be far out damaging what you would do with a crescent scythe, assuming of course you're fighting enemies weak to these elements.

Crescent scythe is really more for ctrl+click crusaders.
