When you mean 1 big server, are you refering to combining servers like say Valk and Yggdrasil?

Each server has a limit to the number of people being able to log in at 1 time, although that doesnt mean that if there are lets say 5,000 people online, you can't log in. You still can, but once the limit is exceeded, the server may crash, people may get disconnected randomly, and you may need to take 5-10 mins to log in, only to get DCed again.

I'm sure you won't want that to happen right.

Back in pre-renewal days when I played mRO, the Iris server once exceeded 5000 people, and gravity had to split iris into Iris 1 and Iris 2. operating an additional server requires extra cost, and I'm pretty sure WP would not for no reason make 2 servers Yggdrasil and Valkyrie if they could actually make do with just 1 server. The only reason I can think of is this.
