There is an option to turn mail notification on or off, that only effects the icon not the sound.

If I have the notification turned off and if I get mail I will hear the "ding dong" sound until I go and collect the mail.

Please stop it doing that.

Sadly, the only way you can do that is to turn off sound completely.

Either that or collect the mail, that's why I reported it here and submitted a support ticket.

Got this response to my support ticket:

Thank you for your continued inquiry.

Regarding in-game mail notification, at the time the change was first made we tested to be sure it disabled both the icon and the sound, it did. However changes since that time may have caused the problem you described. We will test to see if we can reproduce this.

So they are aware of it, I hope they fix it soon.

This problem just got worse, now I see the mail icon AND hear the ding dong sound even though there is no mail.
